Job Summary
Farmers Group (Woodland Hills, CA) seeks a Sr. Solution Engineer to be responsible for providing expertise in the design and functionality of business applications to support Farmers Business Insurance processes. Specific duties include: providing expertise in the design and functionality of business applications; understanding customers' business processes and products and how best they can be supported by the application systems; leading multiple solution engineering technical projects across various teams and initiatives; developing, reviewing, and validating the detailed technical design for business applications provided by the supplier to ensure alignment with business requirements for complex solution; performing quality review checks on project deliverables; validating suppliers estimates; performing impact analysis of application changes across various components, holding an end-to-end view of the system; specifying/recommending integration and parallel testing criteria; supporting the implementation activities, troubleshooting system environmental issues, as required; overseeing Agile Release Trains to ensure they operate effectively and identify, resolve constraints across the development and delivery processes; providing a systems level view to guide technology delivery with broader supervisory oversight, ensuring alignment with business objectives; developing more robust technical designs that ensure scalability and performance; collaborating with teams to support product roadmaps and resolve issues impacting delivery timelines, including leading technical problem solving efforts for more complex solutions; contributing primarily to business unit level solutions and participating in enterprise level solution delivery; engaging in ongoing learning and sharing best practices; and mentoring or training less experienced team members. Option to work remotely from anywhere in the U.S. with occasional travel to headquarters.
Position requires a Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, Software Engineering, or a closely related field of study, plus 7 years of experience in the job offered, or as a Senior Software Engineer, Associate Architect, Internet Architect, System Architect, or similar position providing expertise in the design and functionality of business applications. Must have 7 years of experience with each of the following: working with Pega and related frameworks including CPM, CPMHC, CPMFS, and Decisioning; working with UI/UX capabilities using CSS, HTML, Angular, JavaScript, React, jQuery, and Pega Constellation/Cosmos; working with databases including SQL Server, Oracle, and PostgreSQL, and common integration standards. Must also have 5 years of experience with each of the following: planning, designing, developing, testing, performance tuning, and data modeling; leading enterprise BPM and application initiatives; managing full SDLC delivery; functioning as a PRPC SME; working in architecture, integration design, production support, and Insurance domain; and working with risk management, cross team collaboration, resource planning, stakeholder communication, and ongoing process improvement.
