We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Collibra Solutions Architect to lead the design, implementation, optimization, administration, architecture, configuration, governance, and enhancement of agency's Collibra Enterprise Data Catalog for a government agency located in the Washington DC metro area. This individual will leverage expertise in the Collibra Data Intelligence Platform to develop scalable architectures that improve data discovery, data quality, metadata management, data lineage, and governance across complex data environments.
Additionally, serves as the principal Collibra subject-matter expert and ensures that operating models, workflows, metadata harvesting, lineage, and platform configurations meet agency's technical and data-governance requirements. This is a remote position; however, employees may be required to report onsite periodically based on client and business requirements. Position is contingent upon contract award.
Key Responsibilities
- Solution Architecture: Lead the architecture, design, configuration, and implementation of enterprise Collibra solutions aligned with organizational data governance and data management strategies.
- Data Governance: Design and implement governance frameworks, operating models, policies, standards, workflows, and processes that support enterprise data governance initiatives.
- Metadata Management: Architect and maintain business glossaries, data catalogs, data dictionaries, metadata models, data domains, and stewardship processes.
- Data Lineage and Discovery: Implement and optimize data lineage, impact analysis, data discovery, and metadata harvesting capabilities to improve data transparency and traceability.
- Collibra Configuration: Configure and customize Collibra workflows, operating models, communities, domains, assets, responsibilities, and approval processes to support business requirements.
- Platform Integration: Design integrations between Collibra and enterprise data platforms, data warehouses, data lakes, ETL/ELT tools, business intelligence platforms, and other metadata management solutions.
- Technical Leadership: Provide architectural guidance, establish design standards, lead technical discussions, and mentor team members on Collibra best practices and data governance implementation.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Partner with stakeholders to assess current-state data management capabilities, identify gaps, and develop future-state architecture and implementation roadmaps. Provide technical guidance and knowledge transfer to agency personnel.
- Data Quality and Compliance: Support data quality management, data ownership, data stewardship, access governance, and compliance initiatives through effective governance processes and platform capabilities.
- Implementation and Optimization: Lead technical assessments, platform enhancements, performance optimization, testing, deployment, and ongoing solution maintenance.
- Documentation: Develop architecture diagrams, technical specifications, governance models, integration designs, implementation plans, and operational documentation.
- Continuous Improvement: Evaluate emerging data governance practices, Collibra platform capabilities, and enterprise data management technologies to identify opportunities for improvement.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years in enterprise technology or data management, with at least one year of hands-on documented architecture experience using Collibra.
- Current Collibra Solution Architect or Collibra Ranger certification.
- Demonstrated experience administering and configuring Collibra in multiple environments.
- Experience implementing and modifying Collibra operating models.
- Experience supporting workflows through Collibra Workflow Designer and Workflow Manager for Eclipse.
- Experience configuring Collibra Edge for metadata harvesting and lineage.
- Experience with Collibra Jobserver metadata harvesting.
- Experience participating in Agile software or platform-delivery projects.
- Ability to document architecture, configurations, workflows, operating procedures, and technical decisions.
- Proficiency in REST APIs, Java scripting, Linux based Collibra Edge architecture, and enterprise security solutions.
- Deep understanding of data governance, data cataloging, ETL, data pipelines, and database/cloud platforms (AWS/Azure).
- Excellent communication to bridge stakeholders and IT Teams, with a customer-focused mindset.
- Demonstrated experience designing and implementing enterprise data governance and metadata management solutions.
- Strong understanding of Collibra capabilities, including Data Catalog, Business Glossary, Data Lineage, governance workflows, and stewardship models.
- Experience developing data governance frameworks, business glossaries, data classification standards, data ownership models, and stewardship processes.
- Strong understanding of data architecture principles, metadata standards, data lineage, data quality, and data lifecycle management.
- Ability to translate complex business requirements into scalable technical solutions and communicate architectural decisions to both technical and nontechnical audiences.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with federal government projects.
Additional Requirements
Must be able to pass a federal background investigation prior to starting work and maintain eligibility throughout the engagement.
Salary range for this position is $150,000.00 - $190,000.00
Work Authorization: Government customer requires U.S. citizenship to work on the program. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States.
