About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Systems Engineer to join our Managed Services team in Australia. This position is responsible for application support: managing incidents, troubleshooting complex technical issues, and maintaining customer-facing production environments. The ideal candidate combines strong technical troubleshooting skills with excellent customer communication and a passion for problem-solving.
This role provides critical support across Windows and Linux-based environments and works closely with customers, product teams, and technical specialists to ensure reliable service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide application management, administration, and operational support for production environments.
- Investigate and resolve customer-reported incidents and service requests.
- Perform root cause analysis for application, infrastructure, and integration issues.
- Manage support cases through their full lifecycle, ensuring timely updates and resolution.
- Monitor system health, performance, and service availability.
- Troubleshoot issues involving operating systems, networking, databases, and application components.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive issue resolution and service improvements.
- Document troubleshooting findings, procedures, and operational best practices.
- Participate in scheduled weekend on-call rotations.
Required Qualifications
Technical Skills
- 1-3 years of experience supporting enterprise applications or IT systems.
- Experience working with both Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Working knowledge of SQL, including the ability to query and analyze data.
- Understanding of system administration fundamentals, including TCP/IP networking Common protocols and ports DNSFirewalls and connectivity troubleshooting Operating system concepts and system services
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving skills.
Professional Skills
- Experience with case management or ticketing systems.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced support environment.
- Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to service excellence.
Training & Schedule Expectations
- Must be willing to work either early-morning or late-evening shifts during the first 45-60 days to support onboarding and training activities with global team members.
- Participation in a rotating weekend on-call support schedule is required.
Preferred Qualifications
Candidates with any of the following skills will stand out:
- Experience with Meter Data Management (MDM) systems
- Kubernetes (K8s) administration or troubleshooting experience
- Open Telemetry (OTLP) knowledge and observability concepts
- Experience supporting SaaS or cloud-hosted applications
- Scripting experience (PowerShell, Bash, Python, or similar)
- Monitoring and logging platforms

- Rapidly diagnose and resolve technical issues.
- Effectively communicate with customers and internal stakeholders.
- Own incidents through resolution while maintaining high customer satisfaction.
- Contribute to operational improvements and knowledge sharing within the team.
