Show job description
Woven by Toyota is enabling Toyota’s once-in-a-century transformation into a mobility company. Inspired by a legacy of innovating for the benefit of others, our mission is to challenge the current state of mobility through human-centric innovation — expanding what “mobility” means and how it serves society.

Our work centers on four pillars: AD/ADAS, our autonomous driving and advanced driver assist technologies; Arene, our software development platform for software-defined vehicles; Woven City, a test course for mobility; and Cloud & AI, the digital infrastructure powering our collaborative foundation. Business-critical functions empower these teams to execute, and together, we’re working toward one bold goal: a world with zero accidents and enhanced well-being for all.

TEAM
At Woven by Toyota (WbyT), the AD/ADAS Project Management Team enables the successful delivery of engineering technology that advances the company’s business goals. As a strategic partner to WbyT’s Engineering and Product functions, the Project Management team leads the technical execution of the AD/ADAS portfolio, maintains the organization’s plan of record, and drives the velocity and agility of a highly cross-functional engineering organization distributed across multiple global locations.

Our team members come from a mix of Autonomy, off-board ecosystem, hardware and vehicle backgrounds but we all share a common drive to enable the delivery of complex and safe autonomous engineering products to the world. We are problem solvers who make things happen by setting and communicating clear goals and supporting engineering teams to deliver through the technical and organizational complexity.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Staff Technical Program Manager to contribute to Woven’s Active Learning Loop program that enables the continuous improvement of our autonomous driving stack across data pipelines, ML training, simulation, validation, and deployment.

The ideal candidate is comfortable navigating ambiguity, engaging with senior leadership, and driving cross-functional programs across distributed, global teams with minimal direction. You are motivated by the challenge of bringing complex technology platforms to production and have a strong instinct for connecting technical execution to business outcomes.

This role demands proficiency in data and cloud infrastructure, machine learning platform systems, tools, simulation, and validation workflows. Additionally, it requires strong cross-functional communication skills and a data-driven strategy to enhance engineering speed and cost efficiency.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Own and drive complex cross-functional programs across Data and cloud infrastructure, ML Platform, simulation and validation, with a focus on improving development throughput and cost efficiency.
  • Drive cloud cost management across the ALL program by tracking and reporting on data storage, compute, and ML training spend, identifying cost drivers, and partnering with engineering leads to define and execute cost reduction initiatives
  • Define project scope, milestones, and success metrics for platform capabilities, explicitly tying them to developer productivity, iteration speed, test throughput, and safety validation timelines, and aligning outcomes with the broader autonomy roadmap.
  • Create and maintain an integrated project plan of record (sprint, quarter, year) that unifies platform team roadmaps into a single execution and risk-management view, with clear critical paths to autonomy feature readiness and validation gates.
  • Lead cross-functional planning and high-velocity execution across the Active Learning Loop program, proactively resolving dependencies and blockers, and driving timely, evidence-based decisions.
  • Identify and resolve systemic issues in the development workflow, and continuously evolve TPM practices, including mentoring other TPMs focused on autonomy efficiency and validation outcomes.
  • MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • 6+ years program/project management experience within a software, automotive, aerospace, robotics, or mobility-related industry.
  • Familiarity with the ML development ecosystem, including data pipelines, training workflows, simulation, or offline validation infrastructure.
  • Experience managing cloud infrastructure costs, including data storage and compute, within a large-scale engineering environment.
  • Proven track record of leading large cross-functional programs to successful delivery spanning organizations of 100+ stakeholders.
  • Experience driving technical programs in ambiguity with high-level direction across distributed teams and diverse business cultures.
  • Experience establishing and evolving program operations and decision-making structures adapting to team culture and operating constraints.
  • NICE TO HAVES

  • Experience in Autonomous Vehicle projects, Automotive, or OEM/Tier-1 environments
  • Experience in the development of autonomy features for L2/L4 systems
  • Proficiency in Business level Japanese
  • PMP/PMI or other Project Management certifications are welcome
