Job Title: Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) Lead – Payments & Banking
Job Location: Charlotte, NC (3 Days onsite, 2 Days Remote) Hybrid role.
Job Type:12+ Months contract
Pay Range: $50/hr on W2

Position Summary
- According to the manager, the key needs are:
- -Payments Experience; SRE Experience, Dynatrace, Splunk
- -Please make sure that candidates ACTUALLY have SRE Experience and not just SRE Adjacent experience (support, l2, dev-ops, etc.)
Interview: 1-2 rounds of interview (final round in-person)
Job Descriptions:
The SRE Lead designs and leads reliability engineering across banking and payments, establishing SRE standards, automation, and learning practices to improve resilience, reduce incidents, and scale engineering led operations.
Required Qualifications
- Leads Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) strategy, automation, reliability by design, and observability.
- Reduces incidents and improves recovery.
- Skilled in resilient engineering, risk control, and scaling operations across complex banking and payments environments.
- Must have experience in all 4 Key Pillars of Site Reliability Engineering
Desired Qualifications
- Demonstrate flexibility, navigate ambiguity, and quickly establish credibility among technical peers
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- 8+ years experience
- A top performer is a transformation leader who can turn a traditional support organisation into a data-driven reliability engineering function and prove the improvement through SLOs, automation, resilience and reduced operational toil
- Has successfully led an SRE transformation in a large regulated enterprise.
- Has implemented SLO/SLI/error-budget frameworks at scale.
- Can show tangible reductions in incidents, MTTR, operational toil and reliability risk.
- Has influenced senior executives to change how reliability is measured and funded.
- Thinks in terms of engineering reliability, not production support.
- Looking for a candidate who has SRE experience but and can solve problems in more ways than a hands-on engineer.
