Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field. Equivalent professional experience and certifications will be considered in lieu of a formal degree. 3+ years of hands-on experience building and managing SSIS packages, including control flow, data flow, event handlers, and error handling. Strong proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server (2016/2019/2022), including T-SQL, query optimization, indexing, and database design. Solid experience with Oracle (10g/11g/12c/19c), including PL/SQL, Oracle data types, sequences, and schema management. Proven experience with Oracle-to-SQL Server migrations, including schema conversion, data mapping, validation, data profiling, cleansing, and reconciliation. Expertise in building scalable ETL pipelines for large datasets, with strong data quality and transformation logic. Working knowledge of Java, including Core Java, JDBC, JDK 8+, Maven, and Java IDEs such as IntelliJ IDEA or Eclipse, with the ability to read, debug, and migrate legacy Java-based ETL and data-integration applications to SSIS/T-SQL. Familiarity with Java frameworks such as Spring Batch or Apache Camel. Proficiency in SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS), Visual Studio (SSDT), Oracle SQL Developer or TOAD, and Microsoft SQL Server Migration Assistant (SSMA) for Oracle. Experience with the SSIS Catalog and SQL Server Agent for ETL job scheduling. Experience with Git, Azure DevOps, or TFS for version control is preferred. Experience with SSRS or Power BI for reporting integration is advantageous. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical documentation and cross-functional collaboration. Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced project environment. Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate or an equivalent SQL Server certification is preferred. Experience with Azure Data Factory (ADF) or other cloud-based ETL platforms. Familiarity with data warehousing concepts, including star schema, snowflake schema, and slowly changing dimensions. Exposure to Azure cloud environments and experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies. Knowledge of data lineage and metadata management tools. Responsibilities: Design, develop, and maintain robust SSIS packages for ETL workflows, data transformation, and automated data loads. Analyze Oracle database schemas, stored procedures, functions, and packages, and re-engineer them in T-SQL for SQL Server compatibility. Develop complex T-SQL queries, stored procedures, views, triggers, and functions to support business logic and reporting requirements. Analyze and re-engineer existing Java-based ETL applications, including JDBC-based data access, batch jobs, and stored-procedure calls, into SSIS/T-SQL equivalents while recommending modernization approaches where appropriate. Conduct unit testing, integration testing, and performance tuning of ETL pipelines and SQL scripts. Document migration strategies, data mapping specifications, ETL workflows, and technical runbooks. Monitor and troubleshoot ETL job failures, data discrepancies, and performance bottlenecks across production and staging environments. Optimize SQL queries and SSIS packages using indexing strategies, query plans, and execution profiling. Ensure compliance with data governance, security policies, and regulatory requirements throughout the migration process. Collaborate with business analysts, DBAs, and project managers to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions. Provide post-migration support, including issue resolution and performance monitoring.
