Staff Accountant

Job Description This is a remote position. Our client is looking for a Staff Accountant to support their finance operations in a part time, fully remote role. They operate within a fast growing legal and financial services environment and have continued to strengthen their internal finance function through modern systems and data driven reporting. This role will be part of the accounting team and report directly to the CFO. The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys working with numbers, is eager to develop professionally, and feels comfortable taking initiative. The Staff Accountant will support core accounting functions, contribute to financial reporting, and assist with ongoing efforts to improve and automate financial processes across the organization. Responsibilities Support the monthly close process for the company and its related entities Prepare and maintain general ledger entries, including accruals and adjustments Perform cash, balance sheet, and account reconciliations Assist with tracking, capitalization, and amortization of fixed assets and debt related items Compile and review monthly financial results for leadership review Leverage reporting and data tools to help summarize and present financial performance Provide support during audit cycles, including documentation preparation Analyze budget versus actual results and flag key variances Assist with bank covenant reporting and other compliance related requirements Process accounts payable and expense related transactions Participate in initiatives focused on improving and automating accounting workflows Handle additional accounting tasks and special projects as assigned Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline Open to entry level as well as early career professionals Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy Ability to work independently and manage tasks with minimal supervision Analytical mindset with developing problem solving skills Comfortable operating in a remote, fast paced environment Qualifications CPA or active progress toward certification is a plus Solid Excel skills Experience with accounting or expense management systems is a plus Clear written and verbal communication skills Ability to collaborate across teams and departments Interest in technology and learning new financial tools Strong desire for growth and long term career development Benefits Part time engagement (30hr/week) Fully remote role Direct exposure to senior finance leadership Hands on experience across core accounting functions Opportunity to grow alongside a scaling finance team
