Position Summary
The Harlem Globetrotters are seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative Staff Accountant to join our Finance team. This role supports accurate and timely financial reporting while partnering across the organization to ensure financial transactions are recorded, reconciled, and processed effectively.
The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in general ledger accounting, enjoys solving problems, and is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities. Essential Duties & Responsibilities
· Prepare accurate and timely daily, weekly, and monthly journal entries.
· Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations and research and resolve discrepancies.
· Maintain prepaid and accrued balances, including related amortization schedules.
· Review and process accounts payable invoices, P-card transactions, and monthly expense reports.
· Review and process venue settlements and related revenue activity.
· Research accounting issues, determine appropriate corrections, and make recommendations as needed.
· Evaluate accounting processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, effectiveness, and compliance.
· Partner with internal teams and external contacts to provide timely and professional support.
· Assist with ad hoc financial projects and other accounting responsibilities as assigned.
Experience & Education
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
· 2–5 years of general ledger or related accounting experience.
Skills & Qualifications
· Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting processes.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to research issues, evaluate information, and reach appropriate conclusions.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
· Experience working with ERP or financial systems and the ability to quickly learn new technology.
· Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills.
· Collaborative and professional approach with the ability to work effectively across teams.
· Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
