Position summary: Reporting to the Assistant Controller, the Staff Accountant is to support the corporate controller’s team. This will include processing month end procedures and balance sheet reconciliations. The ideal candidate is a “self-starter”, with the ability to work independently with limited supervision, keeping all relevant parties apprised of developments. This person must also fit well in our small company work environment. Standard 4-day in-office requirement, 1 day remote (of your choosing) Essential functions and responsibilities Prepare month end close procedures on a timely basis which includes preparing journal entries in the general ledger and analyzing variances in account balances. Perform assigned daily and monthly balance sheet reconciliations in M-Files and promptly investigate and clear reconciling items. This involves ongoing communication with various groups within the company, including the Loan Servicing Team, Cash and Deposit Operations, and Human Resources. Perform the OFAC compliance review over new vendors and regular vendor listing. Contribute to special projects and ad hoc requests. Manage and improve the documentation procedures around the assigned activities. Drive audit compliance within the areas for which you are responsible. Analyze and process accounts payable invoices in the Concur software. Skills: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting CPA or CPA seeking candidate PC proficient, including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, and Word). Good working knowledge of GAAP and bank accounting principles. Ability to complete tasks in a timely manner and work independently, excellent verbal and communication skills, and strong service and team orientation. 1-3 years in a banking environment. Potential Salary: $65,000 - $75,000 annually This salary range reflects base wages and does not include benefits, bonus, or incentive pay. Salary bands are purposefully wide ranging to encompass the different factors considered in determining where a candidate falls in the range, including but not limited to, seniority, performance, experience, education, and any other legitimate, non-discriminatory factor permitted by law. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate experience and expertise and may vary from the amounts listed here.
