Description
Inuvo is a market leader in AI-driven digital marketing solutions. Our AI solutions align brand messaging with appropriate content and consumer intent. We partner with brands, agencies, and advertisers to uncover and reach incremental audiences and drive enhanced campaign performance.
Our accounting team runs lean and leans on technology, operating on NetSuite ERP with automated accounts payable and NetSuite Planning and Budgeting. We are looking for a Staff Accountant to manage accounts payable, contribute to a timely and accurate monthly close for a publicly traded company, and support our budgeting and forecasting process. The ideal candidate has a solid accounting foundation, is comfortable with systems and data, is detail oriented, excellent at self-management, and eager to grow. Entry-level candidates with some accounting experience are encouraged to apply.
Principal Accountabilities:
Accounts Payable
- Manage the full accounts payable cycle – vendor onboarding, invoice coding and approvals, and scheduled payment runs – ensuring vendors are paid accurately and on time.
- Maintain the vendor master file, including verification of bank detail changes to prevent payment fraud.
- Monitor AP aging and upcoming cash needs, and prepare annual Form 1099s.
- Serve as the primary contact for vendor inquiries and maintain solid vendor relationships.
Month-End Close & Reconciliations
- Complete assigned close tasks on schedule, including accruals, prepaid amortization, and recurring journal entries in NetSuite.
- Reconcile assigned balance sheet accounts monthly and resolve reconciling items promptly.
- Prepare variance analysis for assigned accounts and expense lines, with clear explanations of the drivers.
Planning, Budgeting & Analysis
- Support the annual budget and periodic forecasts in NetSuite Planning and Budgeting, including loading and validating actuals and maintaining account and department mappings.
- Prepare monthly budget-to-actual reporting and support spend analysis and cost-savings initiatives.
Internal Controls & Audit
- Perform assigned SOX internal controls and keep supporting documentation audit-ready.
- Prepare schedules and support for quarterly reviews and the annual audit.
Process Improvement
- Identify manual, repetitive work and recommend automation and AI-enabled improvements, with appropriate review over accuracy and data security.
- Assist with system enhancements and special projects as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting (or finance with significant accounting coursework)
- Some accounting experience, including internships; entry-level candidates welcome
- Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP accrual accounting
- Strong Excel skills (lookups, pivot tables) and proficiency with Microsoft 365
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work independently in a hybrid environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with NetSuite or NetSuite Planning and Budgeting
- Experience at an SEC-reporting company, in public accounting, or with SOX controls
- Digital advertising or technology industry experience
Growth Path
This role offers a clear path toward a Junior and/or Senior Accountant, with increasing ownership of planning and budgeting, audit preparation, and financial reporting.
Inuvo Benefits
- Competitive health benefits; medical, vision, dental, and generous subsidies.
- Open paid vacation and paid holidays.
- 401(k) Plan- up to 4% company match.
- Offer a hybrid in-office and remote work.
