Are you an experienced DevOps leader with deep expertise in Azure, AWS, Kubernetes, and Infrastructure as Code? Do you enjoy building cloud platforms that are secure, scalable, and cost-efficient, and helping other engineers improve along the way? If you like hands-on technical leadership at the point where cloud infrastructure, platform engineering, and software delivery meet, we want you on our team.

As a Staff DevOps Engineer, you'll lead the design and growth of our cloud infrastructure, platform engineering, and software delivery practices. You'll lead by example, drive application and platform modernization, and build engineering patterns that teams across the organization can reuse. You'll work closely with software engineering, architecture, security, and product teams to deliver solutions that are secure, scalable, resilient, and cost-efficient.

About the Role:

In this role as a Staff DevOps Engineer, you will:

  • Cloud platforms and delivery pipelines become more secure, scalable, and reliable, and easier for engineering teams to use.
  • Application modernization and Kubernetes adoption move forward through practical, reusable patterns.
  • Automation, standardization, and GitOps improve deployment quality and engineering productivity.
  • Cloud costs are actively managed, with measurable savings and effective governance.
  • The team gets stronger through mentoring, knowledge sharing, and higher technical standards.
  • Build and run cloud platforms: Design, build, and run secure, scalable, highly available cloud-native platforms on Microsoft Azure and AWS. On Azure, you'll build with App Service, Function Apps, AKS, API Management, Key Vault, Service Bus, Logic Apps, SQL Server, Cosmos DB, Storage, Virtual Machines, and Azure AI Foundry. On AWS, you'll build with EC2, Lambda, Elastic Beanstalk, Textract, API Gateway, storage, and related services.
  • Lead application modernization and Kubernetes: Lead the move of legacy and .NET applications to cloud-native, containerized architectures. Own Kubernetes and AKS architecture, deployment, security, scalability, resiliency, and day-to-day operations, including GPU-based AI and machine learning workloads. Use Helm to standardize how applications are packaged and deployed, and create platform patterns that can be reused across applications, teams, and environments.
  • Drive Infrastructure as Code and automation: Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code with Terraform and Bicep. Create infrastructure modules and deployment patterns that are reusable, secure, compliant, and version-controlled. Expand automation and self-service so developers can deliver faster and more consistently.
  • Improve CI/CD and GitOps: Design, build, and improve CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Workflows, GitHub Actions, and Argo CD. Advance GitOps practices and automated deployment strategies across environments to increase deployment frequency, release quality, reliability, and engineering productivity.
  • Strengthen networking, observability, and reliability: Design and troubleshoot cloud networking, including VNets, subnets, network interfaces (NICs), private endpoints, DNS, load balancing, and network security. Set up monitoring and observability with Datadog, Azure Application Insights, and related tools. Define useful alerts, health indicators, and incident response practices. Lead root cause analysis to stop incidents from happening again.
  • Optimize cloud costs: Find and lead cost optimization work across Azure and AWS. Balance cost, performance, security, reliability, and scalability in architecture decisions. Promote practical governance, resource usage standards, and engineering ownership of cloud spend.
  • Lead and mentor: Act as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert on cloud, DevOps, and platform engineering. Mentor engineers, constructively challenge existing approaches, and raise the bar for architecture, automation, quality, and delivery. Lead the creation of reference architectures, technical standards, and best practices. Shape platform strategy and explain decisions, risks, and trade-offs clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

About You:

You're a fit for the role of Staff DevOps Engineer if you have:

  • Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure and AWS.
  • Deep experience with cloud-native architecture, distributed systems, serverless services, storage, virtual machines, managed application platforms, messaging, APIs, and both relational and NoSQL databases.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes and AKS, including application modernization and GPU workload deployment.
  • Hands-on experience with Helm for Kubernetes package management.
  • Skill in Infrastructure as Code with Terraform and Bicep.
  • Strong CI/CD experience with GitHub Workflows, GitHub Actions, and Argo CD.
  • Experience deploying and supporting .NET applications.
  • Good working knowledge of Linux.
  • Skill in Shell scripting and Python.
  • Experience with Datadog, Azure Application Insights, or similar monitoring and observability tools.
  • A track record of finding and delivering cloud cost savings.
  • Working knowledge of Azure AI Foundry.
  • Strong problem-solving, collaboration, communication, and mentoring skills.
  • Experience building shared platform engineering capabilities used by multiple product teams.
  • Experience putting enterprise-scale GitOps and cloud governance practices in place.
  • Experience supporting AI/ML platforms, generative AI solutions, or GPU-enabled infrastructure.
  • Relevant Azure, AWS, Kubernetes, or Terraform certifications.
  • Experience working in a complex enterprise or regulated software environment.
