Passionate about precision medicine and advancing the healthcare industry?

Recent advancements in underlying technology have finally made it possible for AI to impact clinical care in a meaningful way. Tempus' proprietary platform connects an entire ecosystem of real-world evidence to deliver real-time, actionable insights to physicians, providing critical information about the right treatments for the right patients, at the right time.

At Center Health, we help people with diabetes feel better every single day.

You might know us for Aria, our AI coach. Aria chats with patients about their glucose, meals and medications, and people who use it lower their blood sugar twice as well as they do with a human coach.

Behind Aria is something just as exciting: a remote patient monitoring (RPM) program that's growing fast with clinics all over the US. Clinics enroll their patients, and we connect to their glucose monitors. When someone starts drifting out of range, we let their care team know, instead of three months later at the next appointment. Patients get support between visits, clinicians get a clear view of who needs them most, and practices get a program that pays for itself. Every new clinic means hundreds to thousands more people getting better care, and you'll see that impact week by week.

We're now part of Tempus, one of the biggest precision medicine platforms in healthcare. Tempus brings deep clinical history on millions of patients. We bring the live, day-to-day picture. Put together, that's a brand new way to care for chronic disease, and diabetes is only the beginning.

We're a small team, and every one of us has been touched by diabetes, either personally or through someone we love. We started Center to build the thing we wished existed.

The role

You'll own RPM growth at Center. That means taking the ideas that bring on more clinics, enroll more patients and keep them engaged, and turning them into shipped product that moves the numbers. Some ideas will come from our commercial team, some from clinicians and patients, and plenty will come from you.

This is a broad, high-ownership seat with a lot of room to shape things. You'll help decide how the platform grows as we take on larger health systems, partner closely with our engineering lead on architecture, and lend a hand on Aria when it counts. You'll also be someone patients and clinics can rely on when something isn't right, which keeps you close to the people you're building for.

What you'll do

  • Ship RPM growth ideas from first sketch to production: enrollment flows, patient outreach, engagement features and provider tools
  • Turn feature requests from patients and providers into the thing they actually need
  • Help shape our architecture as we scale
  • Work alongside the team on Aria, our AI coach
  • Own bug and vulnerability management, so issues get triaged quickly and closed properly
  • Dig into patient support cases when they need an engineer's eye

How we build

We build with AI every day, and we've put real care into doing it well. Our repo ships its own set of Claude Code agents that understand our security setup, our monitoring operations and our quality system. Every change moves through a clear loop: plan it, build it, test it, review it. If a change touches regulated code, the process catches it. The result is a small team that moves quickly, ships safely, and spends its energy on the interesting problems.

Our stack is TypeScript from top to bottom: Svelte on the front end, Node services behind it, MongoDB underneath, Capacitor for mobile, and LangChain with Vertex and OpenAI powering the AI. A lot of our operations run on n8n. Don't worry if some of that is new to you. A couple of us had never written Svelte before joining and were shipping within a day.

Some of what we build counts as a medical device, and we're a HIPAA business associate, so we take quality and privacy seriously. It adds a little process, and it also means you can be proud of everything that reaches a patient.

What we're looking for

  • A strong track record of shipping products people use, including technical leadership on systems that grew a lot on your watch. That's usually 8+ years, but we care most about what you've built.
  • You've started something of your own, or been one of the first engineers at a startup. Most of our team has, and it's the best sign we know that someone loves owning a problem end to end.
  • You thrive in ambiguity. Hand you a fuzzy growth idea and you'll come back with a plan, a build, and a result you can measure.
  • Strong full-stack TypeScript, and you're comfortable moving between front end, back end and data.
  • You're AI-native. You build with AI tools every day and have good instincts for when to trust them and how to check their work.
  • Great product sense. You care how patients and clinicians feel when they use what you've made.

Bonus points: mobile experience (iOS, Android or Capacitor), healthcare data, or EHR integrations.

Life at Center

We're headquartered in San Francisco with a remote engineering team spread across London, Liverpool and Cairo, and we're hiring on the US East Coast so you'll share working hours with the clinics and patients we serve. We're flexible, and we trust you to do your best work on a schedule that suits you. Questions are always welcome and always get a real answer. You'll have regular 1:1s with your manager, focused on where you want to grow. And when something goes wrong, we get curious about why, never about who.

Sound like you?

Thousands of times a day, someone opens Center to understand what their blood sugar is doing, and every month more clinics join us. If you want your work to show up in real people's health, we'd love to meet you.

Center Health and Tempus welcome applicants of all ages, races, religions, national origins, genders and sexual orientations, as well as veterans and people with disabilities.

About Us

Tempus was founded in August of 2015 by Eric Lefkofsky, after his wife was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. Shortly after he founded the company in an effort to bring the power of technology and artificial intelligence to cancer care, he convinced Ryan Fukushima to join as the company’s first employee. Ryan and Eric began assembling a world class team, focused on building the first version of a platform capable of ingesting real time healthcare data in an effort to personalize diagnostics.

We built the platform for oncology and have expanded it to neuropsychiatry, cardiology, infectious disease (through COVID), and radiology. Despite our rapid growth, our mission remains the same—to help make sure patients are on the right drug at the right time, so they can live longer and healthier lives.
