Job Overview
TE Connectivity’s Field Application Engineering Teams work intimately with customers to recommend products and solutions for new and existing applications. They identify new applications, requirement modifications and enhancements to meet customer specifications and conduct on-site installation and service of product and are responsible for all technical aspects of the sales cycle for potential application of company products to meet customer needs, including identifying opportunities; determining solutions; creating demand; preparing detailed product specifications and technical marketing support; ensuring high quality and timely project execution and conducting follow-up technical support. They also approve operational quality of systems and equipment.
The Aerospace Defense and Marine (ADM) business unit of TE Connectivity has an opportunity for an experienced Field Application Engineer in the SoCal area to support Emerging Market and Space Customers primarily in CA, WA, CO and TX. The business unit has determined that, for our key customers, having knowledgeable engineering presence locally is critical to long-term success in supporting our customers’ product and design needs and in advancing our Company’s interests.
The FAE will serve as a technical resource for our customers’ engineers and program / platform managers by providing technical expertise, design work, product application information, and general support for strategic customers. The selected engineer will be a significant interface between TE Connectivity’s sales and engineering organizations and our customers.

Job Requirements
- Serve as the primary technical contact between the customer’s engineering team and TE Connectivity, supporting existing products and new product development.
- Build strong relationships with key engineering contacts and decision-makers while understanding the customer’s products, technology needs, and future roadmap.
- Identify new product and design opportunities early in the customer’s development cycle, providing technical guidance and conceptual design support.
- Coordinate customer projects, including product modifications, testing, signal integrity modeling, application evaluations, and product/process qualifications.
- Translate Voice of Customer (VOC) feedback into actionable opportunities and communicate requirements to internal engineering teams.
- Partner with cross-functional global teams across Engineering, Program Management, Quality, Operations, Logistics, Procurement, and Sales to deliver solutions that meet customer needs.
- Serve as a strong customer advocate internally, ensuring technical requirements, timelines, and expectations are understood and supported.
What your background should look like
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably Electrical, Mechanical, or Systems.
- 8+ years of engineering experience in the Military or Aerospace industry or 6+ years with direct military experience within Aerospace.
- Knowledge of electronic components, interconnect systems, high-speed copper/fiber optic cabling, sensors, and high-reliability systems.
- Experience with full product development cycles, manufacturing principles, tolerance analysis, and rapid prototyping.
- Proficiency with 3D design tools such as Creo, SolidWorks, SpaceClaim, or AutoCAD.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and electrical schematics.
- Strong project leadership, organization, communication, negotiation, and customer-facing skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and influence cross-functional teams.
- Willingness to travel domestically as needed up to 50%

COMPENSATION
• Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $144,700 – 180,800 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
• Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
• Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
