GTI is a contract manufacturing partner supporting customers in renewable energy, power generation, infrastructure, and industrial systems. We fabricate custom designed, purpose-built enclosures and skids for our customers and perform mechanical and electrical integration in-house, delivering a true turn-key product to our customers. Our scope spans Engineering, prototype builds, through full production, requiring teams that can move fast, adapt, and execute with precision. GTI Values: Safety I Quality I Customer Obsession I Speed I Agility Key Responsibilities NPI Governance & Framework Architecture Act as the technical authority and primary manufacturing voice in NPI phase gate reviews for high-complexity modular systems. Refine and standardize GTI’s overall NPI phase-gate framework, establishing clear exit criteria, risk matrices, and manufacturing readiness metrics. Ensure strict adherence to gate criteria, holding cross-functional partners accountable for design maturity, BOM accuracy, tooling readiness, and process capability prior to gate passage. Establish standard risk mitigation protocols (e.g., PFMEAs, ramp readiness audits) to identify and address high-impact execution risks long before production release. Manufacturing Strategy, DFX & Technology Roadmaps Translate high-level design concepts into multi-phase manufacturing strategies across fabrication, structural assembly, electrical integration, and testing. Drive Design for Manufacturability, Assembly, and Serviceability (DFX) principles upstream into Design Engineering during the concept phase to lower unit costs and build cycle times. Evaluate and introduce advanced manufacturing technologies, automation, tooling architectures, and process improvements to elevate throughput across production lines. Define baseline line flows, takt assumptions, ergonomic standards, and complex labor models for new platform offerings. Prototype, Pilot & Ramp Scaling Oversee execution strategy for prototype, pilot, and pre-production builds, ensuring launch teams validate processes under realistic production constraints. Lead root-cause analysis (8D, 5-Why, Fishbone) for complex assembly, structural, or electrical integration failures during pilot phases. Define and execute validation plans for custom tooling, lifting fixtures, automation, and test equipment prior to full production handoff. Feed systemic lessons learned back into core engineering design standards and standard operating procedures (SOPs). Cross-Functional Leadership & Technical Mentorship Serve as the senior technical escalation authority for critical NPI issues spanning Design, Quality, Sourcing, and Plant Operations. Mentor and coach Advanced Manufacturing Engineers and process technicians, fostering technical rigor and continuous improvement across the engineering organization. Partner with Sourcing and Supply Chain on critical strategic make/buy decisions, major capital equipment (CapEx) justifications, and core supplier manufacturing capabilities. Collaborate closely with Plant Operations leadership to establish long-term line layouts, facility footprint planning, and capacity roadmaps. Production Release & Handoff Excellence Drive seamless handoffs from NPI into sustaining Operations, ensuring work instructions, routing accuracy, quality control plans, and shop-floor training programs are 100% complete. Monitor initial post-launch production runs, stabilizing process yields, cycle times, and ergonomics until target operational KPIs are achieved. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related technical field. 10+ years of progressive manufacturing engineering experience in heavy industrial, engineered-to-order, or complex mechanical/electrical integration environments. Proven track record of leading complex product launches from early concept through full production release within a structured phase-gate framework. Deep expertise in heavy fabrication, structural steel, electrical panel/harness assembly, integration, and custom tooling/fixture design. Demonstrated experience providing technical direction to cross-functional project teams and mentoring mid-level engineers without needing direct supervisory authority. Advanced root-cause problem-solving capabilities (PFMEA, 8D, DMAIC, Fishbone) applied to high-stakes launch issues. Preferred Qualifications Direct experience in contract manufacturing, preferably modular fabrication, energy systems, or defense manufacturing. Deep familiarity with APQP, PPAP, Advanced DFX, or structured launch methodologies adapted to high-mix, custom-engineered manufacturing. Experience writing CapEx proposals, specifying high-value manufacturing equipment, and executing plant layout or line relocation projects. Continuous Improvement: Six Sigma Black Belt or Lean Manufacturing Certification.
