Show job description
Fuel50 is a workforce transformation platform helping organisations understand workforce capability, build skills and enable internal mobility in an AI-driven world. Our products combine skills intelligence, talent marketplace experiences and responsible AI to help people and organisations take their next step.

We're looking for a Staff Product Manager to lead our Connected Experiences pod across three squads: Insights, MCP & API, and Integrations. Reporting to the Head of Product, you'll own the product vision, strategy and outcomes across a connected set of product areas that are central to Fuel50's next phase of growth.

You'll help Fuel50 become more than a SaaS application by shaping how our platform delivers connected, contextual and portable work intelligence through APIs, integrations, MCP and agent-to-agent protocols. You'll also lead the evolution of Fuel50 Insights, helping customers understand how their talent programmes are performing, identify critical skills and work intelligence signals, and make stronger talent decisions.

This is a senior product leadership role for someone who can turn an ambitious vision into clear priorities, practical roadmaps and measurable outcomes. You'll bring strategic insight, technical depth and exceptional cross-functional leadership to complex product challenges, working closely with Product, Engineering, Design, Customer Success and Go-to-Market teams.

If you're a technically fluent product leader who enjoys creating clarity, solving complex problems and turning emerging opportunities into real customer value, we'd love to hear from you.

What You'll Do

  • Own the vision, strategy, roadmap and outcomes for the Connected Experiences pod across Insights, MCP & API, and Integrations.
  • Define a bold, practical vision for an MCP-first, distributed and agnostic work intelligence platform.
  • Lead the evolution of Fuel50 Insights, surfacing contextual signals that help customers make stronger talent decisions.
  • Shape an integration strategy that balances responsive enterprise delivery with reusable, out-of-the-box connectors and seamless ecosystem interoperability.
  • Turn customer, market, technology and ecosystem opportunities into focused priorities, experiments and measurable outcomes.
  • Lead cross-functional teams from discovery and technical solution design through delivery, launch and ongoing optimisation.
  • Partner with Engineering and Design on platform capabilities, interoperability, extensibility and pragmatic architectural innovation.
  • Strengthen product practice through coaching, mentorship and collaboration across Product, Engineering, Design, Customer Success and Go-to-Market.
  • Partner with Product Marketing and Solution Consulting on positioning, packaging, pricing, go-to-market plans and market narratives.
  • Stay close to customers, competitive dynamics, emerging protocols and market trends, translating insight into product strategy and clear documentation.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in product management within a high-growth B2B SaaS, platform, API, developer or enterprise technology organisation.
  • Strong technical acumen, with the ability to engage deeply in architectural, API, integration, data and design discussions.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex, multi-dimensional product initiatives across multiple squads or interconnected product areas.
  • Advanced experience with product discovery methodologies, including sophisticated experimentation techniques.
  • A proven track record of driving significant product innovation that delivers measurable business impact.
  • Deep expertise in designing and scaling enterprise-grade product and platform experiences.
  • Experience shaping products that operate across organisational, technical or ecosystem boundaries.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to influence and lead at all organisational levels, including technical and executive stakeholders.
  • Experience leading and mentoring product managers and strengthening product practice.
  • Demonstrated success in driving product strategy in enterprise HR technology, talent management, skills intelligence, work intelligence or adjacent platforms.
  • The ability to hold a bold, long-term product vision while translating it into clear priorities, practical roadmaps and measurable outcomes.
  • A genuine interest in emerging approaches to connected and distributed product experiences, including MCP, agent-to-agent protocols and AI agents.

A degree in Computer Science, Business or a related technical field would be advantageous but is not essential. Previous experience in HR technology platforms would also be valuable.

You do not need to tick every box. We care about the quality of your thinking, the way you work with people and your ability to turn ambitious ideas into better product experiences.

What's it like to be a Fuellie?

Fuel50's team is fully remote, with an HQ in New Zealand and team members across five countries. We have a co-working space in the BHive in Takapuna that we use to meet occasionally for team and strategic planning, and other team events. If you're based outside of Auckland and are needed on-site for anything, we'll pay for you to get here.

We know that having the right people with the right attitude and behaviour is a big part of what makes us successful. Living our values is an important part of being successful in this role.

We have a culture around continuous and respectful feedback and recognition - be part of a team working towards a common goal and helping each other every step of the way.

We have #SuperheroAwards at quarterly planning meetings and spontaneous recognition and shout-outs across the business.

We'll have your back when you need help - your colleagues want to see you succeed and work hard to help you do so.

We work hard and deliver amazing results to our clients - when you see our amazing feedback, you'll be proud to be a Fuellie.

Application process

If this sounds like you, then please apply. If you're not sure you're ready or perhaps you don't meet all requirements yet, please apply anyway. We'll review every application that we get.

This role is based in New Zealand; candidates must hold the relevant right to work in NZ, i.e. citizenship or a work visa, at the time of application.
