About this role

We're looking for a Staff SDET Engineer to join our Engineering team and help us own the automation testing track and quality foundations across all of R&D. In this role, you'll have the opportunity to take ownership, make meaningful decisions, and directly impact testing architecture, delivery speed, and quality across our entire engineering organization.
It's a fully remote role, we are hiring across the EU, with a preference for candidates working within CET (±3 hours).

What you'll be responsible for

• Own the automation testing track as Technical Product Manager, setting direction, prioritizing platform-wide initiatives, and directing the work of a dedicated SDET team through scoping, sequencing, and technical guidance, while driving adoption across clusters
• Define and evolve the automated validation strategy across backend, frontend, API, integration, and end-to-end layers, building validation architecture for a large monolith and satellite services ecosystem, and reducing dependency on fragile end-to-end testing through domain isolation, contract testing, and scoped validation
• Design quality gates for AI-assisted and agentic development workflows, enabling fast and reliable software delivery as teams adopt AI-driven build and review processes
• Partner with Staff Backend and Frontend Engineers on architecture decisions, making sure testability and delivery reliability are built into technical design from the start
• Improve CI/CD feedback loops and deployment confidence, tracking flake rate, coverage trajectory, and escape rate as primary quality signals, and leading initiatives on flaky test reduction, deterministic testing, and autonomous validation pipelines
• Provide high-level automation strategy direction for mobile, desktop, and WordPress platforms, while mentoring engineers and promoting engineering ownership of quality across the organization

What you bring

Must-have

• Strong hands-on software engineering background, with deep expertise in test automation architecture and CI/CD systems
• Experience working with large-scale monoliths and distributed systems
• Strong understanding of frontend, backend, API, and infrastructure testing, with a track record of improving delivery speed through testing architecture optimization
• Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development workflows and agent-based tooling
• Experience as a Technical Product Manager for an engineering track, scoping, sequencing, and prioritizing work for a team without formal people management

Nice-to-have

• Understanding of Kubernetes, cloud infrastructure, and deployment pipelines
• Familiarity with trunk-based development and spec-driven, AI-assisted engineering workflows
• Experience mentoring engineers and building a culture of engineering ownership of quality
