Job Title: Staff Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET)

Location - Morocco (Rabat)

About this role

As a Staff SDET at Circles.Life, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our backend systems. This position combines software development and testing tasks, focusing on testability, robustness, and performance of production code. You will be responsible for developing automation frameworks, enhancing test coverage, and mentoring junior SDETs.

What you'll do

• Understand the use cases / User journeys for products and the technical solution and develop test scope using test design techniques and documentation.
• Should have understanding about Generate testcases, Test scripts using AI tools
• Understand the test scope and make the relevant changes to the automation framework and platform APIs that will help us automate relevant scenarios faster and more reliably.
• Enhancing and maintaining automation frameworks for scalability, stability, and performance.
• Be obsessed with automated test coverage for backend APIs & workflows and strive to incorporate various functional and end-to-end scenarios into automated test suites.
• Interacting and collaborating with the product team and QA teams to identify and understand testing requirements to automate.
• Partner with CI/CD team and SRE teams to ensure that automated tests contribute effectively to the deployment pipeline and site availability needs.
• Perform manual functional testing for the identified test scope when required.
• Experience in automation testing (both API and UI)
• Able to extend working hours during weekdays and weekends till the product is launched and in the BAU phase.

What we are looking for

* 10+ years of experience in a quality engineering role with a focus on test automation.

* Proficiency in Java and related technologies; knowledge of Golang and NodeJS is a plus.

* Experience with automation tools such as Selenium, REST Assured, Appium, and TestNG.

* Strong understanding of automation frameworks and their integration into CI/CD pipelines.

* Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins and Maven.

* Familiarity with databases (SQL, NoSQL), message queues, and caching technologies.

* Understanding of SDLC/STLC and Agile processes.

* Experience in defining test strategies and test plans.

* Ability to debug and perform root cause analysis for identified issues.

* Experience with multi-environment structured test data setup and management.

* Passion for identifying test coverage gaps and improving automated test suites.

* Hands-on experience in mobile app automation is a plus.

* Drive non-functional testing activities including performance, scalability, reliability, resilience, and basic security testing to ensure applications meet defined quality and engineering standards.

* Leverage AI-assisted engineering and prompt engineering techniques to improve test design, test-case generation, automation development, defect analysis, test-data creation, and overall QA productivity.
