【Staff Software Engineer】Global Company

Our client is looking an experienced backend engineer to join an international technology team building scalable, high-availability software systems.

This is an opportunity for a senior engineer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, driving architectural decisions, and collaborating with distributed engineering teams.

What You'll Do

• Design and develop scalable backend services and distributed systems.
• Lead technical architecture and contribute to engineering best practices.
• Build APIs, microservices, and integrations with external platforms.
• Improve system reliability, performance, and data consistency.
• Translate business requirements into robust technical solutions.
• Collaborate with international stakeholders and engineering teams.
• Support production systems and help resolve complex technical issues.
• Contribute to technical direction and mentor fellow engineers.

Technical Stack

• Programming languages: Go, Java, Kotlin, Rust, C#, Scala, or C++
• Backend development: REST APIs, gRPC, microservices
• Architecture: Distributed systems, event-driven architecture, domain-driven design
• Data and systems: Transaction processing, data consistency, high-availability systems
• Integrations: Third-party APIs and external service integrations
• Collaboration: Git-based workflows and distributed engineering environments

What We're Looking For

• Strong experience in backend engineering and system architecture.
• Proven ability to design and build complex, scalable applications.
• Experience with transaction-heavy or data-intensive systems.
• Strong understanding of reliability, performance, and system design.
• Professional fluency in Japanese (JLPT N1 or equivalent).
• Business-level English communication skills.
• Ability to work independently (IC) and collaborate across international teams.

Nice to Have

• Experience in fintech, banking, payments, or other complex business domains.
• Experience with Go or a similar statically typed language.
• Background in highly regulated industries.
• Experience working in a global or fast-growing technology company.
