Statement Request Assistant

Customer Service — Statement Copies

Remote | Full-time or part-time | 26.75–28.25 per hour

A customer asks for a copy of a statement. Before anyone sends it, the request must be connected to the correct account and the approved delivery channel. This remote role provides that administrative care. You would review routine online requests, confirm the information required by the employer's procedure, retrieve an available statement, and record what was delivered. Anything involving a disputed balance, an unusual date range, or an identity concern goes to the billing specialist.

From request to delivery

A typical day may begin with a queue of messages that look similar but relate to different billing periods. Read the requested range and match it to the account; do not assume the latest statement is the one wanted. Check whether the person is authorized to receive the document under the company's verification process. If the request is incomplete, ask only for the approved missing detail. Once a permitted document is found, use the assigned secure delivery method and note the date and exact period supplied.

The work also involves redirecting questions. A statement may prompt a customer to ask why a charge appears. You can acknowledge that question and transfer it with context, but should not interpret charges, promise an adjustment, or provide financial advice. A good handoff includes the statement period and the question, without copying account details into an unsecured message. This is customer service grounded in careful office administration.

A statement request can appear simple while the record has several periods or account holders. Confirm the period requested and the recipient allowed under the employer's process before sending an approved copy. If the latest statement has not been issued, explain what the team can confirm without manufacturing a document or date. Keep the request and delivery record together, including a bounce or access problem. When a customer is asking about a charge instead of requesting a copy, route the question to billing; attaching another statement does not answer it.

Work you may do

  • Read requests for existing statements through the assigned online inbox.
  • Confirm the account and permitted requester using the employer's steps.
  • Locate a statement for the correct period in a web-based system.
  • Prepare a concise delivery message using approved wording.
  • Record when a document was provided and through which channel.
  • Flag missing statements, disputed amounts, or account mismatches.
  • Follow privacy instructions for attachments and recipient addresses.
  • Refer questions about a balance to the authorized billing team.

Who can start here

Prior billing work is helpful but not essential. Customer service, office administration, document handling, or accurate email support are all useful backgrounds. The company will train a new hire on its statement system, identity checks, and secure delivery method. You should be comfortable working with online records, reading dates and account identifiers carefully, and pausing when information does not match. The role does not require an accounting qualification.

The position is remote, with part-time or full-time hours determined by the employer. A private home office or comparable setting is appropriate for account documents. You will be told what equipment and system access are provided.

Cases to set aside for review

  • The requester cannot be matched to an authorized account contact.
  • The requested date range is not available in the system.
  • A statement appears under a similar but different account.
  • The document seems to include another customer's information.
  • A customer asks you to explain or change a charge.
  • An older copy differs from a corrected statement.

You will learn which route applies to each exception. Keep the customer's request open with a useful status while a specialist investigates. An accurate “under review” is better than sending a document just to clear an inbox. Where a secure portal is required, do not substitute ordinary email for convenience.

Consider applying if

You can describe a time you handled a document carefully or checked the right recipient before sending information. Formal billing experience is only one way to show that skill. A short, accurate example in your application is useful. Applicants selected to continue may be invited to complete an application on the hiring company’s website. The company will provide details about its statement types and training in the next stage.
