Your Role and Impact

As a Statutory Accountant, you will help ensure accurate, compliant, and timely financial reporting across multiple legal entities within Flowserve’s multinational Business Services Center. You will support statutory reporting under local GAAP and US GAAP, coordinate compliance activities, and partner with Finance Shared Services, Tax, Legal, HR, Procurement, IT, and external auditors.

Your work will strengthen financial controls, improve the quality of statutory reporting, and drive operational excellence through standardization, process improvement, and effective stakeholder collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
  • Support month-end and year-end close activities, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with corporate policies, US GAAP, and local GAAP requirements.
  • Prepare and review annual statutory accounts for multiple legal entities under applicable local accounting standards, such as UK GAAP, HGB, and French GAAP.
  • Reconcile statutory accounts to US GAAP management and group accounts.
  • Maintain detailed local-to-US GAAP bridge workings, adjustment schedules, statutory reserves, and disclosures.
  • Coordinate year-end statutory audits, respond to auditor queries, and support the timely completion of audits.
  • Ensure statutory accounts and related documentation are filed with local registries and authorities on time.
  • Maintain robust audit files, supporting documentation, and narrative disclosures for statutory and management reporting.
  • Review local postings impacting statutory ledgers, including dividends, capital injections, impairments, and intercompany transactions.
  • Partner with Tax on corporate income tax and withholding-tax disclosures included in statutory accounts.
  • Support legal-entity changes, including mergers and acquisitions, carve-outs, liquidations, and related statutory filings.
  • Act as a central contact for Business Services Center teams, Accounting Managers, and other stakeholders on financial issues, requests, and advisory needs.
  • Collaborate with Finance Shared Services, Operations, HR, Procurement, IT, Legal, and Tax to resolve financial issues and improve data accuracy.
  • Support cross-functional initiatives, including ERP enhancements, automation projects, and process-improvement programs.
  • Identify opportunities for process standardization, efficiency, and stronger service delivery within shared-services operations.
  • Support internal and external audits and ensure adherence to corporate compliance standards.
  • Execute and maintain controls and documentation consistent with the US SOX and global control framework.
  • Provide guidance on the appropriate application of US GAAP, SOX requirements, and statutory accounting principles.
  • Support finance-process training and knowledge-sharing sessions.
  • Develop an end-to-end understanding of relevant finance and high-level IT processes across the ERP landscape.
  • Support continuous-improvement initiatives, using data analytics and best practices to improve service delivery and drive KPI performance.
  • Perform other ad hoc tasks assigned by the direct leader or management.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience in a multinational, Shared Services, or Global Business Services environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong knowledge of ERP systems, preferably SAP, Oracle, or comparable platforms.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Strong analytical judgment, problem-solving ability, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work reliably to deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
  • Comfortable working in a matrixed, global environment with remote stakeholders.
  • Strong stakeholder-management skills and the ability to influence without direct authority.
  • Ability to remain calm and effective under audit pressure.
  • Strong sense of ownership and a continuous-improvement mindset.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting multi-jurisdictional and multi-currency statutory reporting.
  • Experience with statutory-linked tax disclosures.
  • Additional European language skills.
  • Experience with ERP enhancement, automation, or finance transformation projects.
