Meijer offers an 11-week internship program that challenges interns to deliver innovative solutions to real projects that impact the business. Throughout the course of the internship experience, we deliver diverse personal and professional development opportunities that further develop skillsets that can be implemented both during and after the program. The internship program will allow for interaction with other interns and Meijer senior leaders.

The internship program includes:

What you will be doing as a Store Experience Intern:

The Meijer Store Experience Internship Program will provide college students with a well-rounded retail educational experience providing an opportunity for an Intern to lead a project impacting the customer or Team Member experience.

At the end of the Store Experience Internship Program students will be able to:

• Develop competencies in key areas of research, leadership, training and presentation skills
• Have a clear and concise understanding of store experience operations

The intern may also get exposure to other activities of the function, including:

• Store Operations
• Store Support Training
• Store Fulfillment

Qualifications:

The Meijer Store Experience Internship Program is an experiential education program designed for students currently enrolled in an academic degree program, who are considering future careers in this exciting field.

• Progress toward a Bachelor's degree in Management, Operations, Education, or related field

• Prior experience in Retail, customer service, or learning and development strongly preferred
• Past leadership responsibilities in work or extracurricular activities preferred
• Passion for Retail or Customer Service and a desire to enter a career supporting retail stores
• Drive for results – is action oriented and has focus on the financial impact of their projects
• Customer focus - dedicated to meeting expectations of internal and external customers
• Digital mindset - experience with digital devices, applications, and analytics to access and manage information
• Relationship Skills - can create positive working relationships with team members, leadership, and other internal and external constituencies
• Communication Skills - conveys the right information in writing and verbally
