Position Summary:
Waring Commercial is seeking a Strategic Account Coordinator to increase the effectiveness, productivity, and commercial impact of our National Account Managers (NAMs), Strategic Account Managers (SAMs), and Mid-Market Strategic Account Managers (MMAMs). This is a key sales enablement role for a driven professional who wants to build a career in sales while gaining broad exposure to strategic accounts, commercial analysis, prospecting, account planning, and sales execution.
The Strategic Account Coordinator will provide high-quality sales administration and account support while also helping the team identify where the next growth opportunities may come from. This individual will analyze current and historical sales performance, recognize account and category trends, research prospective opportunities, monitor relevant industry developments, and translate information into actionable insights that help sellers prioritize their time and move the business forward.
This role is expected to do more than respond to requests. The successful candidate will anticipate needs, identify gaps, surface risks and opportunities, and keep important actions from stalling. Working across multiple sellers and account segments, the Coordinator will help create the preparation, organization, insight, and follow-through required to deliver a consistent and professional customer experience.
The ideal candidate is hungry, driven, curious, and highly accountable. This person must be a confident self-starter who is comfortable taking initiative, while remaining coachable, adaptable, and eager to learn. The role reports to the VP of Sales and will work closely with the VP of Sales and the broader commercial organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Seller Support & Commercial Execution
- Provide day-to-day sales support to NAMs, SAMs, and MMAMs across strategic, national, and mid-market account portfolios.
- Coordinate account-related activities, information, materials, meetings, follow-up, and internal requests so sellers can spend more time engaging customers and creating growth.
- Prepare account briefs, sales presentations, meeting materials, product information, program documentation, and follow-up summaries for customer and internal discussions.
- Track commitments, decisions, open items, and next steps across priority accounts and proactively drive closure with the appropriate internal or external stakeholder.
- Help maintain a consistent, responsive, and professional experience for customers by ensuring that requests and opportunities move efficiently through the organization.
Sales Analytics & Opportunity Identification
- Analyze current and historical sales by account, product category, location, and relevant time period to identify trends, whitespace, risks, and growth opportunities.
- Compare account performance against prior periods, established baselines, plans, and known market activity to highlight meaningful changes and areas requiring seller attention.
- Develop recurring and ad hoc account analyses that help sellers understand purchasing patterns, category penetration, product mix, and potential next-best opportunities.
- Translate data into concise, actionable insights and recommended follow-up rather than simply reporting numbers.
- Support account planning and business reviews with accurate performance information, opportunity analysis, and clear commercial takeaways.
Analytical Prospecting & Market Intelligence
- Research prospective customers, locations, concepts, market segments, and account developments that may create opportunities for Waring products.
- Monitor industry trends, customer announcements, expansion activity, competitive developments, and other relevant market signals.
- Connect external market information with internal sales history to help identify where Waring may have an opportunity to expand, re-engage, or introduce additional categories.
- Build targeted prospect and opportunity lists for sellers, supported by clear rationale, relevant account context, and recommended next actions.
- Proactively surface emerging risks and opportunities so the sales organization can respond early and stay ahead of changing account or market conditions.
Sales Administration & Process Discipline
- Ensure accurate account, contact, activity, opportunity, and follow-up information within CRM.
- Support opportunity tracking, pipeline reviews, forecasting inputs, account plans, customer programs, and reporting requirements across the seller organization.
- Help organize customer meetings, business reviews, sales events, product demonstrations, and other account activation activities.
- Coordinate internal workflows involving pricing, samples, product information, customer service, marketing materials, and other commercial support needs.
- Identify recurring administrative friction and recommend practical process improvements that make the sales team faster, more consistent, and easier to do business with.
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Work closely with the Sr. Director of Business Operations, VP of Sales, NAMs, SAMs, MMAMs, sales operations, marketing, product management, culinary, customer service, and other internal partners.
- Serve as a reliable coordination point across teams, ensuring stakeholders have the information, context, owners, and deadlines required to execute.
- Build strong working relationships across the commercial organization and communicate clearly when priorities, requirements, or timelines change.
- Take ownership of assigned initiatives and follow them through from initial request to completed outcome.
Professional Development & Sales Readiness
- Develop a strong working knowledge of Waring's products, customers, channel structure, strategic account model, and commercial priorities.
- Learn alongside experienced sales leaders and account managers by participating in account planning, customer preparation, business reviews, and selected customer interactions.
- Demonstrate growing commercial judgment, customer awareness, and ownership in preparation for increased sales responsibility over time.
- Actively seek coaching and feedback, adapt quickly, and apply learning to improve the quality and impact of support provided to the sales team.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business, sales, marketing, analytics, hospitality, foodservice, or a related field preferred, or equivalent relevant experience.
- 2-5 years of experience in sales support, sales operations, account coordination, business analysis, customer service, business development, or a related commercial role preferred.
- Demonstrated interest in building a long-term career in sales, account management, or commercial leadership.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales data, identify trends, recognize exceptions, and convert findings into practical recommendations.
- Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; experience with CRM, business intelligence, ERP, or sales reporting tools is strongly preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple sellers, accounts, requests, deadlines, and changing priorities without losing attention to detail.
- Confident and proactive self-starter who takes ownership, follows through, and is comfortable raising questions or surfacing issues early.
- Coachable, adaptable, and receptive to feedback, with the judgment to adjust quickly as business needs evolve.
- Clear written and verbal communicator who can present information concisely and work effectively with senior leaders, sellers, customers, and cross-functional teams.
- Curious and commercially minded, with the desire to understand how customers buy, how accounts grow, and where Waring can create additional value.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Commercial foodservice equipment, hospitality, distribution, dealer, or manufacturer experience is helpful but not required.
- Stamford, Connecticut is the preferred location; candidates in other major metropolitan markets may be considered.
