Show job description
As a strategic delivery lead, you will play a pivotal role in delivering Xantura’s mission to reduce societal inequality through better use of data. You will lead the successful delivery of some of our most strategic programmes, combining hands-on leadership of complex delivery with oversight across a small team of Project Managers.

This is a hybrid leadership and delivery role, sitting between our Senior Project Managers and the Head of Business Consulting. You will directly lead a complex client programme, providing hands-on oversight across multiple projects or workstreams delivered by members of your pod.

Alongside delivery, you will be responsible for developing your team, maintaining a high standard of delivery across your pod, and shaping the longer-term success of a portfolio of client accounts. You will build trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders, connecting immediate delivery priorities with clients’ strategic objectives and identifying opportunities to deepen Xantura’s impact.

Working closely with the Head of Business Consulting, you will support resource planning, drive delivery excellence, contribute to the evolution of our delivery methodology, and act as a role model for best practice working across the team.

This role is ideal for an experienced consultant or project leader who enjoys balancing complex delivery, people leadership, strategic account management and wider team contribution.

Key Responsibilities

Project & Programme Leadership

  • Lead the successful delivery of one of Xantura’s most complex or strategically important programmes.
  • Provide hands-on support and guidance across multiple projects or workstreams led by members of your team.
  • Take accountability for high-quality delivery, ensuring outcomes, scope, timelines, budgets, risks and dependencies are effectively managed.
  • Work with client leaders and frontline teams to understand the impact of change, build engagement and readiness, and support the adoption of new tools, insights and ways of working.
  • Maintain a clear view of delivery health across your team’s projects, providing proportionate challenge and support and acting as a senior escalation point when required.
  • Drive client adoption, operational improvement and benefits realisation, ensuring our work delivers meaningful impact for frontline services and residents.
Strategic Account Leadership

  • Own one or more strategic client accounts and build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders across clients and Newton.
  • Lead the development and execution of account plans that connect current delivery with clients’ longer-term priorities and Xantura’s strategic objectives.
  • Maintain a joined-up view across the projects, relationships, risks and opportunities within your accounts.
  • Develop a deep understanding of each client’s operating context, strategic priorities and future needs.
  • Support contract renewals, account growth opportunities and strategic commercial discussions.
Team Leadership & Development

  • Line manage and develop 2–4 Project Managers, setting clear objectives and expectations and providing regular feedback and coaching.
  • Support team members to strengthen their project management, consulting, stakeholder management and change management capabilities.
  • Adapt your leadership and level of involvement to each team member’s experience, capability and development needs.
  • Support effective prioritisation and resource allocation across the team, balancing client commitments, delivery capacity and development opportunities.
  • Foster a collaborative, supportive and high-performing culture, encouraging ownership while ensuring team members have the support they need to succeed.
Prioritisation and Delivery Excellence

  • Balance competing responsibilities across direct project delivery, account leadership, team management and oversight of the wider pod.
  • Make clear and timely prioritisation decisions, escalating material trade-offs or capacity constraints where appropriate.
  • Ensure Xantura’s delivery standards, governance processes and reporting expectations are consistently applied across the team.
  • Identify and address cross-project risks, dependencies and resourcing pressures before they affect client outcomes.
  • Share lessons learned and contribute to the continued improvement of delivery methods and ways of working across Business Consulting.
