Strategic Sourcing Buyer Intern

​​Strategic Sourcing at Leidos is responsible for Purchasing and Logistics on all tangible material and software buys for all business segments at Leidos. Strategic Sourcing is looking for highly motivated supply chain students to work as interns during the summer of 2026, where interns will learn about Leidos’ buying and logistics operations. Interns will receive introductions throughout the Strategic Sourcing organization and be exposed to training and real-life examples of supply chain work at Leidos. Throughout the summer, Buyer Interns will learn about procurement and supply chain through hands on experience by placing orders and working as part of the buying team. At the end of the summer, Buyer interns will be asked to evaluate their training and experience during the program. They will make recommendations for how to improve sourcing and reduce costs in the supply chain.

​Primary Responsibilities

• ​Learn the basics of purchasing in a Federal Government approved Purchasing System.

• ​Attend meetings with stakeholders to identify supply chain sources.

• ​Attend meetings with key stakeholders to identify supply chain sources to diversify supplier portfolio.

• ​Work with team to develop implementation plan for presentation to Sr. Management.

• ​Execute implementation plan to extent feasible during summer timeline.

• ​Make follow-on recommendations for long term sourcing success.

​Basic Qualifications

• ​Working towards college degree relating to supply chain, sourcing, analytics, or logistics (or a related field)

• ​Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
• ​Ability to work in a group environment

• ​Proficient in written and oral communication
• US Citizenship

​Preferred Qualification

• ​Data analysis or supply chain validation capabilities preferred.
