This position is responsible leading the development, implementation and oversight of key supplier improvement initiatives to identify, evaluate, and maintain a strategic supplier network. As part of our productivity team, this position will use advanced quality and project management tools to improve supplier performance in terms of quality, capability, delivery, and total cost.


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education: Bachelor's Degree

Experience: seven to ten years experience in supply chain management, supplier development or procurement

or

Any appropriate combination of education and experience as determined by management.


Travel: 20-30%

Work Schedule: Typical work hours are between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Monday – Friday; However, work may be performed at any time on any day of the week to meet business needs.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Leads / coaches cross-functional teams on selected development projects to create a culture of value, quality, and total cost reduction.
  • Acts as a liaison between internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
  • Partners with supplier and manufacturer leaders and internal team members to improve supplier capability.
  • Develops on-boarding processes for new suppliers and systematic tools to identify ‘at risk’ suppliers for selection development projects.
  • Develop and implement partner performance review procedures to communicate successes and address shortfalls.
  • Develops key processes outlining the purpose and direction of Supplier Development in order to coordinate efforts across various business units.
  • Performs assessments of supplier’s capability to meet organizational requirements and maintain sustainable performance including review of capacities.
  • Promotes strategic approaches in supplier selection and problem solving.
  • Works with suppliers to develop action plans to close gaps between current and expected performance.
