Strategy & Operations Associate
Revenue Operations · Cape Town, South Africa
ABOUT CAPCADE
Capcade is building the operating system for private capital, serving private equity, private credit and fund of funds managers. A fund's world runs through external relationships (LPs, portfolio companies, administrators, vendors and regulators), and most of that coordination still lives in inboxes and spreadsheets. We put it on one governed surface where every document, workflow and obligation is visible, auditable and accountable, so fund teams can spend their energy on the next investment rather than chasing PDFs.
WHY THIS ROLE NOW
Capcade is growing its Cape Town team, and we are looking for a Strategy & Operations Associate to help us build our engine and run it. You will work alongside our Head of Growth where customer success, adoption and growth meet, helping a small team serve a fast-growing customer base like a much larger one.
This is a role for someone who wants to see how a business really works and help shape where it goes next. You will work on real problems from your first few weeks, see how your ideas land with customers and colleagues, and have room to try things, get some wrong and learn fast. The foundations are in place and everything is open to challenge, including how we do things today. As your scope grows, so will your ownership.
Strategy is only as good as its execution, so you will do both: the analysis that shows us where to focus, and the hands-on operations that make it real. The role is mostly building, with a meaningful share of running. You will create the content, automations and reporting that keep our customer experience running smoothly, and take care of the everyday touchpoints that scale.
Build it, own it: you will learn fastest by seeing your work land with real customers, so curiosity about people matters as much as the technical skills.
WHAT WILL YOU DO
- Create and refine the content that helps customers succeed: help articles, guides, training material and short videos for our customer academy.
- Set up and run the automations behind it: onboarding sequences, lifecycle campaigns and in-app messages.
- Build the reporting our customer and growth teams rely on, and turn it into clear recommendations, not just numbers.
- Help steer our AI-assisted support. Spot where it misses, then fix the content, flows or product feedback behind it.
- Handle the everyday customer moments that scale, such as setup questions, account and access requests and reporting requests, and escalate genuine defects to Product with the evidence.
- Keep our commercial data clean and our segments sharp across Apollo and Intercom.
- Dig into the questions that shape our direction: what customers use, where they get stuck and which segments deserve our focus.
- Support our client-facing team in account management, solution consulting and project delivery with the content, analysis and operations they need, prioritised with the Revenue Operations Lead.
- Suggest better ways of working, and own the improvements you suggest.
WHAT YOU BRING
We care more about what you have built and how you think than where you have been. We look for people who combine sharp, structured thinking with energy and initiative.
- An Honours degree or higher in a quantitative or business discipline, such as engineering, accounting, business science, finance or economics, with a strong academic record.
- Roughly two to three years in professional services, financial services, fintech or SaaS, ideally in strategy, analytics, operations or customer success. An interest in funds and investors is a real advantage.
- Evidence of initiative: things you started, built or fixed without being asked.
- A builder's mindset and a bias for action. You like to make something, try it quickly and improve it.
- Analytical confidence: comfortable with data and spreadsheets, and able to turn numbers into a point of view.
- Enthusiasm for new tools, including AI. Experience with Apollo, Intercom, Power BI, Miro, Synthesia or Vimeo is a plus.
- Clear, warm writing and communication, so you can make complex things simple for customers and colleagues.
- An appetite to understand the whole business, not just your corner of it.
WHAT DRIVES YOU
- Client-minded, with a passion for a consistent, high-quality customer experience.
- Ambitious and ownership-minded, taking pride in the outcome and asking for more scope as you earn it.
- Collaborative and able to enable solutions across internal and external teams.
WHAT WE OFFER
- Opportunity to become an equity holder.
- A hybrid working environment with flexibility to manage your day.
- Access to modern technologies and continuous learning opportunities.
- Supportive colleagues with a willingness to help and a sense of humour.
- A drama-free environment with regular feedback and growth opportunities.
HOW TO APPLY
Our process is deliberately focused: an HR intro conversation, a couple of deeper sessions with the people you would work with, based on real Capcade product problems.By submitting your application and CV, you consent to the processing of your personal data in accordance with the Law on Personal Data Protection (you can find our Recruiting Privacy Policy here).
Send us your CV along with a short note on what excites you about this role and about Capcade. We are especially interested in product lines you have owned from discovery through to adoption, times you walked into a live, messy product area and made it better, and how you use AI in your day-to-day work.
