  • Partner with revenue cycle, compliance, and IT leadership to ensure coding accuracy, regulatory compliance, and data integrity throughout the Epic transition
  • Establish and monitor KPIs for coding productivity, quality, and turnaround time across hospital and physician billing operations
  • Serve as the primary point of accountability for HIM/coding performance to client executive stakeholders for the duration of the engagement
  • Assess current-state HIM/coding operations and recommend structural, staffing, or process changes to support long-term stability
  • Provide mentorship and stabilizing leadership to the existing Director-level team during a period of executive transition

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive HIM/coding leadership experience, including significant experience at the Senior Director/System Director/VP level within a multi-facility health system
  • Demonstrated experience directly overseeing multiple Director-level leaders and large, distributed HIM/coding teams
  • Both Hospital Billing (HB) and Professional Billing (PB) coding operations experience required
  • Direct experience leading HIM/coding operations through a major Epic system upgrade, optimization, or go-live
  • Proven track record of driving operational improvement and stability during periods of significant technology and organizational change
  • RHIA or RHIT credential strongly preferred; CCS or equivalent coding credential a plus
  • Prior interim or consulting engagement experience strongly preferred
  • Strong executive communication skills, with the ability to build immediate credibility with existing Director-level leadership and client executives
  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree in Health Information Management, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred
  • Ability to start within approximately 30 days to support the upcoming Epic upgrade timeline
