MPP Engineers LLC, a U.S.-based structural engineering consulting firm, is expanding its remote team in India.

We seek experienced, independent, and dependable professionals for FIVE distinct positions.

Experience in ONE specialty is sufficient. Experience in multiple specialties is a significant advantage.

1. Main Structural Steel Connection Design Engineer

• Design shear, moment, bracing, bolted/welded connections, base plates, and anchorage.
• Prepare structural calculations and connection details using AISC standards.
• Interpret U.S. structural drawings, specifications, loads, and connection forces.
• Experience with conventional through complex connection design projects.

2. Miscellaneous Metals Structural Design Engineer

• Design stairs, railings, ladders, platforms, equipment supports, and related connections/anchorage.
• Prepare structural calculations, plans, sections, and details.
• Familiarity with AISC, ASCE 7, IBC, and U.S. construction practices.

Main Steel and Miscellaneous Metals are separate specialties. Experience in both is preferred but NOT required.

3. Building Structural Design & Evaluation Engineer

• Design steel-framed and/or wood-framed buildings, primarily small- to medium-sized structures.
• Experience with new buildings, additions, renovations, and structural modifications.
• Perform gravity/lateral analysis, framing design, and basic foundation design.
• Evaluate existing buildings for additional loads, rooftop solar, and equipment.
• Prepare structural calculations and coordinate/review construction drawings prepared by CAD staff.
• Familiarity with U.S. codes, including ASCE 7, AISC, IBC, and NDS.

Our focus is steel and wood framing—not RCC high-rise or concrete-framed building design, except for basic foundation work.

4. Structural CAD Drafter – Building Construction Drawings

• Minimum 3 years, preferably 3–5+ years, of relevant experience.
• Strong AutoCAD skills, including architectural Xrefs and drawing coordination.
• Prepare foundation plans, floor/roof framing plans, sections, and structural details from engineering design information.
• Review and coordinate architectural drawings with structural requirements.
• Experience preparing U.S. building structural construction documents.

NOT a Tekla/SDS/2 steel fabrication or shop drawing detailing position. Revit experience is a plus.

5. Structural Steel & Miscellaneous Metals Estimator

• Review U.S. structural and architectural drawings to identify and understand project scope.
• Evaluate steel connection design and miscellaneous metals engineering requirements.
• Identify steel connections, stairs, railings, platforms, supports, and other miscellaneous items requiring engineering.
• Perform drawing takeoffs, quantify scope, identify project complexity, and assist with preparation of accurate engineering fee estimates and proposals.
• Identify missing design information, scope exclusions, and potential RFIs.
• Coordinate estimating requirements with MPP's engineering and project management teams.

Preferred Background:

• Experience with structural steel detailing, fabrication, or estimating.
• Experience using Tekla, SDS/2, or similar steel detailing software is highly valuable.
• Ability to interpret U.S. structural/architectural construction drawings and steel fabrication requirements.
• Understanding of steel connections and miscellaneous metals scope.
• Engineering design experience is a plus but NOT required.

General Qualifications

• Preferably 4+ years of relevant engineering or estimating experience; 3+ years for CAD drafting.
• Demonstrated hands-on experience with U.S. projects, drawings, standards, or construction practices.
• Proficiency with relevant software such as ETABS, SAFE, RAM, RISA, STAAD.Pro, ENERCALC, AutoCAD, Tekla, SDS/2, or equivalent, depending on the position.
• Strong technical understanding, accuracy, attention to detail, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, coordinate effectively, and meet deadlines.
