Trueline, a rapidly growing specialty concrete contractor serving industrial and commercial projects nationwide, is seeking a Structural Engineer / Concrete PE to become its internal structural engineering resource. This role can be based in Fort Worth, TX, or performed remotely anywhere in the U.S. and offers a rare opportunity for an experienced engineer to bring a previously outsourced function in-house, work directly with company leadership, and have significant technical autonomy and visibility.

What You'll Do as the Structural Engineer / Concrete PE:

  • Analyze and design concrete structures supporting industrial and commercial construction projects.
  • Perform structural calculations and develop engineering solutions for concrete applications.
  • Prepare engineering drawings, construction documents, calculations, and supporting technical documentation.
  • Take ownership of structural engineering work currently performed by outside engineering consultants.
  • Serve as the company's primary internal resource for structural engineering and concrete design questions.
  • Evaluate project requirements and recommend practical, constructible engineering solutions.
  • Collaborate with estimating and operations teams to incorporate engineering considerations into project planning and execution.
  • Work directly with the Chief Estimator, CEO, and technical leadership on project needs.
  • Apply structural engineering principles with an understanding of how concrete work is actually constructed in the field.
  • Help establish processes and standards for a new internal engineering function.
  • Provide technical guidance as the company continues expanding its industrial and commercial concrete portfolio.
  • Over time, help shape how the organization approaches engineering and design internally.

Must-Haves as the Structural Engineer / Concrete PE:

  • Active Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Professional structural engineering experience with meaningful exposure to concrete design.
  • Hands-on experience analyzing and designing reinforced concrete structures and/or concrete systems.
  • Strong understanding of concrete design, behavior, and construction.
  • Experience personally completing structural calculations and developing construction or engineering documents.
  • Ability to independently evaluate project requirements and develop appropriate engineering solutions.
  • Technical depth to operate as the primary in-house structural engineering resource.
  • Strong judgment and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with construction, estimating, operations, and executive leadership.
  • Comfortable working independently without the infrastructure of a large engineering department.

Nice-to-Haves as the Structural Engineer / Concrete PE:

  • Structural Engineer (SE) designation.
  • Experience with slab-on-grade, concrete flooring, or related slab systems.
  • Industrial warehouse or distribution center project experience.
  • Specialty concrete subcontractor experience.
  • Background designing concrete for large industrial or commercial facilities.
  • Experience working directly with contractors, subcontractors, estimators, and construction operations teams.
  • Previous experience serving as an autonomous senior technical resource.
  • Experience translating structural design requirements into practical field solutions.

Offer:

  • Competitive base compensation based on technical experience, licensing, and concrete expertise.
  • Initial compensation target of $110,000-$150,000, with meaningful flexibility for highly qualified Structural PEs whose market compensation exceeds that range.
  • Remote work from anywhere in the U.S.
  • Fort Worth/DFW office option for candidates who prefer to work locally.
  • Relocation assistance available for candidates interested in moving to Texas.
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance.
  • Life insurance.
  • PTO starting at two weeks, with additional PTO negotiable for experienced hires.
  • Potential 401(k) employer contribution, subject to confirmation of final plan terms.
  • Direct access to executive leadership and company ownership.
  • Significant autonomy as the company's primary internal structural engineering resource.
  • Opportunity to build an engineering capability rather than inherit an established department.
  • High visibility within a growing, established organization.
  • The chance to make an immediate impact as the company continues scaling its national project portfolio.
