Job Title: Structural Engineer (PE)
StruXure (under D5 Capital Holdings) is a leading provider of premium outdoor living solutions, specializing in fully customizable motorized pergolas and smart outdoor environments. We help customers transform their outdoor spaces into functional, year-round extensions of their home or business. We operate at the intersection of design, precision fabrication, and skilled installation, and as we continue to grow, we're looking for motivated, energetic individuals to join our team.
About the Role
We are bringing structural engineering review of our pergola and louvered roof projects in-house, and we're looking for an experienced licensed Professional Engineer to lead it. In this role, you will review, analyze, and certify the structural design of our motorized pergola systems, replacing the outside engineering review we rely on today. You will be the technical authority on wind, snow, and seismic loading, foundations, and connections, ensuring every project is safe, code-compliant, and ready for permit. This is a full-time, salaried, exempt position based in Colorado, working on a hybrid schedule.
What You'll Do
- Review and approve the structural design of custom motorized pergola and louvered roof projects, and produce stamped calculations and drawings for permit submittals
- Analyze wind, snow, and seismic loads in accordance with ASCE 7 and applicable local building code requirements
- Design and verify aluminum and steel framing, connections, anchorage, and foundations for a wide range of site conditions
- Evaluate attachment to existing structures and assess whether existing conditions can support proposed installations
- Respond to building department comments and coordinate with permitting officials to keep projects moving
- Partner with our sales, design, fabrication, and installation teams to resolve structural questions early and support field decisions when conditions differ from plan
- Develop standard details, span tables, and calculation packages that reduce turnaround time on repeat configurations
- Maintain your PE licensure and stay current on code changes across the states where we operate
What You Bring
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in Colorado, in good standing
- 7+ years of structural engineering experience, including hands-on design and review of light-frame, aluminum, or steel structures
- Working knowledge of IBC/IRC, ASCE 7, and aluminum and steel design standards
- Proficiency with structural analysis and design software (e.g., RISA, SAP2000, or similar)
- Experience producing sealed calculations and drawings for permit submittals
- Clear communicator who can explain technical requirements to non-engineers and work well with cross-functional teams
Preferred:
- Active PE licensure in Utah, Texas, and/or Georgia, or a willingness to obtain additional state licenses
- Experience with pergolas, patio covers, canopies, louvered roofs, or similar architectural aluminum structures
- Experience with residential and light commercial foundations, including helical piers and drilled footings
- Familiarity with manufacturer product certification or evaluation, such as ICC-ES reports
- Experience working in a manufacturing, construction, or design-build environment
- Structural Engineering (SE) license
Why This Role Stands Out
- Own the structural engineering function for a growing brand, with direct influence on how our products are designed, built, and permitted
- See your work built: collaborate closely with the teams that design, fabricate, and install the projects you certify
- Help build a new in-house capability from the ground up, including standards, details, and processes
- Join a PE-backed portfolio company with room to grow as we expand across regional markets
Compensation
- $120,000 – $150,000 per year, depending on experience and licensure
- Coming in January 2027:
- Moving to traditional group health plan (health, dental, vision) from current healthcare reimbursement plan
- 401(k)
- Paid time off
Application Deadline
Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis until the position is filled––there is no hard deadline.
