Location: India (Remote/Hybrid)
Employment Type: Full-Time
Position Summary
We are seeking a Structural Engineer with experience delivering U.S.-based structural engineering projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the analysis and design of steel structures in accordance with U.S. codes and standards. Candidates with hands-on experience in cold-formed/light-gauge steel design and analysis are highly preferred.
The selected candidate will work closely with U.S.-based engineers and project teams on commercial, industrial, residential, and infrastructure projects throughout the United States.
Key Responsibilities
• Perform structural analysis and design of steel structures, including beams, columns, bracing systems, trusses, and connections.
• Design structures in accordance with applicable U.S. codes and standards, including AISC, AISI, ASCE 7, IBC, and local jurisdiction requirements.
• Prepare detailed engineering calculations, technical reports, and design documentation.
• Develop and review structural drawings and construction documents.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and fabricators located in the United States.
• Participate in design reviews, quality control checks, and interdisciplinary coordination meetings.
• Review shop drawings, RFIs, and submittals.
• Support value engineering, constructability reviews, and optimization of structural systems.
• Assist in mentoring junior engineers and developing engineering standards.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Minimum 3 years of structural engineering experience, with a focus on U.S. projects.
• Strong understanding of U.S. structural design codes and practices.
• Experience in structural steel design using AISC specifications.
• Proficiency with structural analysis and design software such as:
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD and/or Revit.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to work effectively with U.S.-based teams across different time zones.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience in cold-formed/light-gauge steel design using AISI standards.
• Experience with light-gauge steel software such as Vertex BD, FRAMECAD, CFS Designer, MWF, or similar tools.
• Familiarity with steel connection design software such as RAM Connection, IDEA StatiCa, SDS2, or equivalent.
• Experience with commercial, industrial, warehouse, multifamily residential, or modular construction projects in the United States.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license, EIT certification, or progress toward professional licensure is a plus.
• Experience leading small project teams and coordinating directly with U.S. clients.
Desired Skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Thorough understanding of structural load paths and system behavior.
• Knowledge of steel fabrication, detailing, and construction practices.
• Ability to independently perform design calculations and engineering reviews.
• Familiarity with BIM workflows and multidisciplinary project coordination.
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail and quality.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- We are specifically looking for engineers based in India who have prior experience working on U.S. structural engineering projects. Candidates with a combination of structural steel design expertise, light-gauge/cold-formed steel experience, and a strong understanding of U.S. design standards, detailing practices, and construction methods will be given preference. Experience collaborating directly with U.S.-based engineering firms or clients is highly desirable.
