Stylist Educator

Stylist Educator We’re looking for an experienced stylist to join our team as an educator who is interested in working both behind the chair, and as part of our education team. Our core value is to “get better at being who we already are” and at the heart of that is a drive to keep learning. We’re looking for just the right person to be part of our growing education team. The Refinery House isn’t just a Hair Salon, it's community-driven, people-first, and built on the connections between us and our chairs. We have three hair salons and an education center. We’re a B Corp company, a green circle salon and use Davines products exclusively. Hours & Location: Part Time or Full Time. Shifts are flexible. Candidate would be participate on our education team - helping facilitate our Basic Hair Program, which operates Monday-Thursday (from 5-10hrs a wk depending on preference). The education team members also participate in the development and execution of our advance training program and education team meetings (2hrs per month). If new to our team, preferred availability is hours in our District 1881 location. Wages: Pd by Hour & Commission for services Hours: $25-35/hr depending on experience and availability Commission: Competitive rates Experience & Expertise required: ● Preferably 5+yrs of experience behind the chair, 3yrs experience minimum. ● Able to execute and articulate advanced colour and cut theory ● Willing to train in the specific methodology used in our hair program, ● Able to work within a team environment ● Function as part of the education team in creating ongoing learning plans across the organization for all levels of stylists ● Participation in ongoing tasks and duties as they relate to the operation of the schools and shops ● Curriculum execution and development Here are some things you can expect: ● Monthly advanced training sessions ● Value-driven customer service support ● Competitive commission-based salary, with a wage spectrum plan ● Medical, dental, and auxiliary benefits (staff discounts for example) ● House-supplied stylists' kits ● General revelry ● Clear staff and stylists policies Client base is not necessary.
