The ideal candidate will be an experienced engineering professional with a background in substation design, coupled with strong leadership and project management skills. You will work closely with internal teams and clients to ensure the successful completion of projects that meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency.

· Client Interaction: Act as the primary point of contact with clients, providing technical expertise and updates. Resolve any issues or technical challenges that arise during the project lifecycle.

· Quality Assurance: Ensure the accuracy and quality of design documentation, including site drawings, CADD work, and engineering studies. Review and approve project deliverables, maintaining strict adherence to industry codes, standards, and internal quality procedures.

· Risk Management: Proactively identify project risks and issues. Develop strategies to mitigate these risks, ensuring the smooth execution of the project and avoiding delays or cost overruns.

· Operational Efficiency: Continuously assess and implement improvements to project processes, ensuring projects are completed within budget and on schedule. Innovate new techniques or methods to enhance project outcomes.

· Compliance & Documentation: Ensure all regulatory requirements and codes are met. Prepare and review project close-out documentation, including final reports and as-built drawings.

Education & Years of Experience:

· Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.

· Professional Engineer (PE) license required or the ability to obtain within a specified time frame.

· Project Management Professional (PMP) is strongly preferred.

· 10+ years of progressive experience in substation design, engineering, and project management of high-voltage substation projects (69kV to 500kV)

To Thrive in This Role, You Will Need:

· Proven expertise in managing complex multi-disciplinary teams (engineers, designers, drafters, contractors, and vendors) to deliver projects within budget, schedule, and quality standards.

· Familiarity with RUS (Rural Utility Services), ANSI, IEEE, NEC, NESC, NERC, and other codes and standards as they relate to power delivery and substation design.

· Ability to manage project risks effectively, including change orders, delays, and cost overruns, while ensuring the client’s expectations are met.

· Expertise in the preparation of scope of work (SOW) documents, technical specifications, and procurement packages for substation projects.

· Familiarity with construction management, including site assessments, material testing, quality control processes, and commissioning of electrical substations.

Travel Requirements:

· Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time for site visits, client meetings, and project coordination.
