As a Data Analyst Intern you will report to the Data Analytics Senior Manager.
You will support American Family’s Operational Shared Services teams by transforming data into meaningful insights that help improve performance across contact centers, underwriting, and customer and policy servicing operations. In this role, you'll work with a variety of data sources to gather, extract, analyze, and visualize information that supports business decisions, uncovers trends, and drives operational improvements.
You'll gain hands-on experience preparing and validating data, building dashboards and reports, and translating complex findings into clear, actionable recommendations for business partners. You'll also have opportunities to support data cleansing, manipulation, and basic modeling efforts that help improve workflow efficiency, service outcomes, and overall business performance.
This internship is ideal for a curious, analytical problem-solver who is excited about using data to enhance customer and employee experiences in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. You'll work alongside experienced professionals, gain exposure to real-world business challenges, and develop skills that will support a future career in data analytics.
Compensation Minimum: $25.00
Compensation Maximum: $39.00
Responsibilities
- Develop an understanding of our business, corporate culture and structure to support your work.
- Contribute creative ideas and strategic approaches in response to changing situations.
- Analyze and transform data into meaningful dashboards, performance reports, and actionable insights that support using tools such as Tableau, SQL, Python, and GCP.
Requirements
- Must have achieved 24 semester hours of academic credit before beginning the first work term.
- Must be in student status at an accredited 4-year college or university during the internship, graduating August 2028 or later.
- Must be pursuing a Bachelors, Masters, or PhD.
- Major/program must align with internship role.
Travel Requirements
• Up to 10%.
Physical Requirements
• Work that primarily involves sitting/standing.
This is a hybrid role based out of the Madison, WI Corporate office.
Additional Information
- To ensure a strong start, all employees participate in our New Employee Orientation during their first week. This experience is held in person at our Madison, WI Headquarters or one of our AmFam core locations to help you connect with our mission, meet key team members and build relationships that support your growth. At times, sessions may be delivered virtually based on scheduling and availability.

This role may be considered for a Full-Time in Office or Hybrid work arrangement based on the selected candidate's location. Work locations for this role include Madison, WI.
