Summer Associate

In addition to energy, we work in health care, higher education, technology, communications, manufacturing, consumer products and professional services, among others.

The Summer Associate Role

You will work directly with clients and gain exposure to important strategic issues on a client-facing engagement. Summer Associates research, analyze, interview, recommend, facilitate, advise and produce deliverables in a manner that is effective, persuasive and contributes to long lasting client relationships.

Summer Associates are encouraged to locate to one of our offices in Atlanta, Raleigh or the Boston area, but relocation to one of these cities is not required. Travel, at the discretion of the client, may be necessary.

The Project Team

You will work on a small project team to identify, and often implement, potential solutions to a specific client problem or challenge. Project teams are typically composed of three or four consultants and a partner. Working closely with experienced ScottMadden partners will maximize your learning and enable meaningful project contributions.

The Qualifications

• Pursuing a Master’s degree in business administration
• Excellent analytical, writing, and communication skills
• Skilled in problem-solving and building relationships
• Service-orientated and client-focused
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office programs (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook)

The Requirements

You must have three to five years of post-undergraduate work experience. The nature of this experience - whether it is in general management, operations, strategy development, implementation, marketing, or finance - is not as important as the level of responsibility you assumed, and the accomplishments achieved.

Some of our Summer Associates have experience in the energy or management consulting fields; however, specific experience in a particular functional area or industry is not essential for this position as we are confident that the people we hire will learn and begin contributing quickly.

Location 

Summer Associates may choose one of our three offices (Atlanta, Raleigh or Framingham, MA) to work out of during their internship. When not traveling, Summer Associates should work from their chosen office at least two days a week.
