The Data, Systems and Special Projects division of Workplace Infrastructure and Logistics (WIL) is a team focused on laying the foundation for data governance and data analytics practices for our department. We support multiple WIL systems that support our operational divisions like facility maintenance and operations; space utilization and space reservations; facilities support; and asset management teams. We are focused on providing systems capabilities for these divisions to effectively manage and use their data, as well as research and recommend new or existing systems to more effectively run their business. The Summer Associate would work both independently and collaboratively to support analysts on the team and our internal business partners by performing/supporting data collection, processing, and use; developing and refining systems and systems capabilities; and providing recommendations to support departmental objectives based on available technology. The Summer Associate Program is a 12-week internship program beginning in May 2027 and ending in August 2027. Students will work on impactful projects and meaningful work during their internship. To qualify for this position, applicants must be currently pursuing a degree from an accredited college or university and have an anticipated graduation date of December 2027 or later. Develop/refine reports and dashboards Systems capability, data automation, collection, processing, and analysis Identifying actionable insights Research into new and existing systems capability to better support and enable our divisional partners Interview Stakeholders, technology experts and providers, to establish systems uses and capabilities Support data governance and compliance initiatives and projects Basic research, analytical, and problem-solving skills Familiarity with systems and data querying, reporting, and analysis Experience with Power BI, SQL Experience with the practical use of AI Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, Advanced Excel Effective creative problem-solving skills Effective verbal and written communication skills and active listening Additional Information Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM Location: 820 Follin Lane SE, Vienna, VA 22180
