Supervisor, Field Installation

ABOUT THE JOB:

The Field Installation Supervisor – Clearspan Structures oversees the safe, efficient installation, dismantling, and service of Clearspan structures across assigned projects and within a defined geographic or regional area. This role may supervise multiple crews on a large jobsite and/or coordinate crews across several concurrent locations. This role is expected to establish work plans and priorities, allocate labor and equipment, develop crew leaders and technicians, monitor safety, quality, schedule, cost, and customer commitments, and partner with branch and functional teams to resolve issues and deliver consistent field execution.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

• Supervise field installation operations for multiple crews on large projects or across an assigned geography, setting daily and weekly priorities, assigning crew leadership, balancing labor and equipment, and adjusting deployment plans to meet changing business and customer needs.
• Plan and control job execution, including site readiness, work sequencing, material staging, equipment and vehicle availability, subcontractor coordination, milestones, and closeout. Monitor progress against approved scope, schedule, labor expectations, and customer commitments, and communicate risks and recovery plans.
• Lead safety and quality performance across assigned crews by conducting or verifying pre-job planning, toolbox meetings, hazard assessments, inspections, equipment authorizations, fall-protection practices, load securement, and compliance with company, customer, DOT, OSHA, and applicable regulatory requirements.
• Develop and manage crew capability by coaching crew leads, setup technicians, and installers; supporting onboarding and skills development; verifying required operator cards and certifications; addressing performance or conduct concerns through established processes; and building consistent work practices across locations.
• Provide technical oversight for the installation and dismantling of Clearspan frames, fabric systems, anchoring, tensioning hardware, keder systems, accessories, and approved Value-Added Products, ensuring work follows manufacturer specifications, site conditions, engineered requirements, and WillScot standards.
• Coordinate regional resources and stakeholders by partnering with Operations, branches, Project Management, Sales, Logistics, Fleet, warehouse teams, contractors, and customers to align schedules, staffing, equipment, materials, access, and service expectations across concurrent assignments.
• Resolve and escalate operational issues involving staffing, safety, quality, scope, materials, equipment, schedule, site conditions, or customer concerns. Lead corrective actions within assigned authority and escalate significant risk, cost, personnel, or contractual matters promptly.
• Ensure accurate field administration by reviewing and approving required work orders, service orders, inspections, driver logs, customer signoffs, daily reports, time records, incident documentation, and project closeout records using company-approved systems.
• Serve as a professional representative of the Company by demonstrating leadership, professionalism, and integrity in all work-related activities while leading team members by example and reinforcing Company standards and expectations.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical, construction management, or supervisory training preferred.
• Five or more years of progressive experience installing, dismantling, or servicing Clearspan structures, temporary structures, tent structures, or comparable field-installed systems required.
• Two or more years of experience formally supervising or directing field crews in construction, equipment rental, temporary structures, field service, or a related trade environment required.
• Experience coaching crew leaders and technicians, managing performance through established processes, and coordinating with branch, project, sales, logistics, fleet, warehouse, contractor, and customer stakeholders required.

Required Skills:

• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record; proficient hand and power tool use; ability to safely operate or oversee authorized use of forklifts, manlifts, boom lifts, stake drivers, and related equipment as trained and certified.
• Strong working knowledge of Clearspan or comparable temporary structure components, assembly sequences, fabric installation, tensioning, securing, anchoring methods, load securement, and material handling requirements.
• Complete, verify, and submit required jobsite paperwork, customer documentation, inspection records, and project submittals accurately and on time.
• Must maintain all required operator cards, certifications, and site-specific equipment authorizations necessary to perform assigned work.
• Ability to supervise multiple crews and develop crew leaders; set priorities, allocate resources, monitor productivity, coach performance, and maintain consistent safety, quality, and customer-service expectations across projects and locations.
• Ability to obtain and maintain rigging, fall protection, lift operation, and other required safety certifications.
• Ability to coordinate jobsite layout, staffing, equipment readiness, material staging, customer communication, documentation, and completion of work orders, service orders, inspection sheets, driver logs, checklists, and field updates using company-approved systems or applications.
• Ability to maintain safe operation and proper working condition of assigned trucks, tools, and equipment, including completion of pre-trip, DOT, inspection, maintenance, and service coordination requirements.
• Strong communication, organization, attention to detail, issue resolution, and escalation skills for working with customers, contractors, sales teams, branch personnel, shop teams, logistics, and co-workers.
• Ability to apply and reinforce Federal, State, and local requirements, jobsite safety requirements, PPE standards, hazard awareness practices, lift/equipment safety procedures, fall protection requirements, DOT/OSHA expectations, and company safety policies.
• Ability to acquire and maintain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card if required for customer sites, port access, or project-specific assignments.
• Must comply with all company drug-free workplace policies and customer site requirements.
• OSHA 30 certification preferred; ability to obtainOSHA 30 or other required safety training within the timeframe established by WillScot required.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience supervising or leading crews in construction, equipment rental, industrial tent installation, temporary structures, field service, or customer-facing jobsite environments. Current or prior forklift, manlift, boom lift, OSHA, fall protection, rigging, or other required safety certifications preferred; ability to obtain company-required certifications within the timeframe established by WillScot required.
