Supplier Quality - Metal Frame & Mechanical Position Purpose Ensure that suppliers of metal structures, carpentry, mechanical components, and machined parts consistently meet the company's quality, technical, and production requirements through qualification, monitoring, auditing, and continuous improvement of supplier performance. Key Responsibilities Supplier Qualification & Development Evaluate, qualify, and approve new suppliers of metal structures, welding, machining, casting, and surface treatment. Conduct supplier qualification audits. Support Procurement in selecting suppliers from a technical and qualitative perspective. Define and monitor strategic supplier development plans. Evaluate supplier production capacity, technical expertise, and maturity of quality systems. Ensure the compliance of purchased components with drawings, technical specifications, and regulatory requirements. Manage the component approval process and product/process changes. Verify the correct implementation of supplier Control Plans, Inspection Plans, and Process Flows. Support First Article Inspection (FAI) and Product Validation activities. Coordinate sampling and initial validation activities. Plan and execute system, process, and product audits at suppliers, prepare audit reports, and monitor the closure of corrective actions. Manage supplier nonconformities. Coordinate containment, sorting, and rework activities. Request and evaluate 8D and Root Cause Analysis reports. Monitor the effectiveness of implemented corrective actions. Manage any exemptions and concessions in collaboration with the relevant functions. Analyze supplier quality trends. Define and implement performance improvement plans. Collaborate with: Procurement, Engineering, Manufacturing, Incoming Inspection, Project Management, Supply Chain Participate in technical reviews and meetings with strategic suppliers. Required Technical Skills In-depth knowledge of ISO 9001 standards. Knowledge of process and system audits. Nonconformity and corrective action management. Knowledge of methodologies: 8D, 5 Why, Ishikawa, Pareto Analysis, FMEA, Control Plan, SPC Knowledge of the following production processes: Metalwork, Welding (MIG/MAG/TIG), CNC machining, Sheet metal and bending, Mechanical assembly, Surface treatments and painting, Dimensional and geometric tolerances (GD&T). Reading and interpretation of technical drawings. Use of dimensional instruments: Caliper, Micrometer, Dial gauge, Altimeter, Roughness tester, Interpretation of dimensional reports and CMMs. Analysis of material and treatment certificates. Behavioral skills Strong results orientation. Technical leadership and ability to influence without direct authority. Negotiation skills and supplier management. Structured problem solving. Analytical and data-driven approach. Ability to manage priorities. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Continuous improvement orientation. Requirements Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or equivalent engineering, or a technical diploma with significant experience. At least 5 years of experience in Supplier Quality, Manufacturing Quality, or Quality Engineering roles. Direct experience with metalwork and mechanical component suppliers. Good command of English. Willingness to travel to national and international suppliers.
