JOB PURPOSE
Work with the Global Vendor Management team to ensure all required deliverables meet the
department’s quality and schedule expectations. Work across Pillars (Books Production, Journals
Production, Learning Pillar, Digital, Video) and locations to identify and implement vendor
relationships, workflows, and processes that meet the needs of the business.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Manages and reports on vendor quality and timeliness KPIs for Research Pillar, Learning Pillar,
College, Corwin, International Teaching Pillar, Digital, and Video products.
• Oversees day-to-day activities and quality of offshore project management, typesetting, XML, alt
text and long description (ATLD), video, and digital vendors globally and across products
• Facilitates communication between internal staff and external vendors
• Contributes to future improvements in process and technologies
• Evaluates potential vendors to meet resource requirements
• Provides regular reports on supplier performance to the appropriate teams
• Initiates and/or attends meetings with vendors and other business partners
• Works with Content Managers to question, and ideally remove, global template layout and style
exceptions
• Books/Journals/Digital Prod’s SMART and Sage Central vendor contributor/superuser
• Contributes to future developments for Vantage, typesetting, accessibility, vendor project
management, and use of AI
• Writing contract addenda for new services (Global Vendor Management Manager handles MSAs
with Legal, and approves addenda)
SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Any combination equivalent to, but not limited to, the following:
• Publishing experience
• Task management experience, including the ability to prioritize numerous simultaneous projects
• Experience managing external vendors and/or supply chain
• Experience with problem solving and conflict resolution
• Computer skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, and an ability to learn
other new programs quickly
