Job Description:

DePuy Synthes is recruiting for a Supply Chain Launch Manager-Orthopaedics, located in Palm Beach Gardens, FL, Raynham, MA or Warsaw, IN! Remote work options may be considered on a case-by-case basis and if approved by the Company.


Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Orthopaedics business to establish a standalone orthopaedics company, operating as DePuy Synthes. The process of the planned separation is anticipated to be completed within 18 to 24 months, subject to legal requirements, including consultation with works councils and other employee representative bodies, as may be required, regulatory approvals and other customary conditions and approvals.


The Supply Chain Launch Manager will be responsible for the development of supply chains to enable successful NPD launches and strategic lifecycle programs and drive operational excellence between DePuy Synthes and our external and/or internal manufacturing partners. They will craft and develop optimized supply chain strategies for sophisticated global programs and orchestrate teams through standardized launch management processes, ensuring strong accountability. In addition, this individual will identify and implement key capabilities, positioning Supply Chain as a competitive advantage by unlocking efficiencies and accelerating launch execution. They may also supervise and lead full time and contractor resources.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Serves as the supply chain lead on large global NPD programs or lifecycle programs; orchestrating the Supply Chain readiness from Charter prep through GATE 6/stabilization and perhaps beyond including E2E supply execution
  • Designs and establishes value chains for new products or key brands to ensure alignment with key business functions and strategies
  • Provides strong program management capabilities to drive end-to-end value, collaborating heavily with commercial, R&D, quality, Planning and other supply chain partners.
  • Drives alignment to supply chain readiness process ensuring strong functional accountability.
  • Delivers project communications to leaders across multiple levels of the organization.
  • Builds strong multi-functional teams, providing input and mentor to team members.
  • Responsible for communicating business related issues or opportunities to next management level.
  • For those who supervise or lead a staff, responsible for subordinates following all Company guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmental practices and that all resources needed to do so are available and in good condition, if applicable
  • Responsible for ensuring personal and Company compliance with all Federal, State, local and Company regulations, policies, and procedures.

Qualifications


Education:

  • Education: Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent University degree required; focused degree in engineering or science related field preferred.
  • Master’s degree or higher in Engineering, Science, or a related Field is preferred

Experience and Skills:


Required:

  • Minimum six (6) years of relevant professional work experience
  • Experience in Manufacturing, Distribution, Planning, Project Management, Procurement, Engineering, or R&D in a Healthcare Industry
  • Project Management experience, including developing and implementing processes for new or existing products/process and/or new technologies
  • Demonstrated ability applying project management methodologies and tools, resource management practices and organizational change techniques
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills (written, presentation, meeting management, documentation) to effectively collaborate across all levels of the organization
  • Experience working in a complex matrix organization and achieving results through leveraging internal and external partners
  • Strong problem-solving, planning, and organizing skills
  • Experience in data analytics
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where priorities change rapidly and possess the ability adapt accordingly
  • Outstanding attention to detail
  • E2E mindset including business acumen and ability to manage financials for projects

Preferred:

  • Supply Chain, Operations, and/or Manufacturing experience
  • Familiarity with such functions as R&D, Regulatory Affairs, and/or Quality
  • Medical Device industry experience is a plus
  • Experience in applying Six Sigma and Lean methodologies; certification is a plus
  • Knowledge/experience with master production schedule process, inventory management, supply chain management
  • Experience working in a global environment
  • Understanding of financial processes such as P&L calculation and COGS
  • Six Sigma/Process Excellence and/or Project Management/PMP/FPX certification
  • Knowledge in engineering and project management principles, such as Risk Management tools, FPX tools, Harmonized Stage Gate Process, Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), application of DFM/A practices, scientific molding principles and capital equipment systems manufacturing/inspection processes.
  • Proficiency in three-dimensional modeling, drafting, layout techniques, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and perform engineering calculations.
  • Demonstrate ability to work proactively and effectively in a multi-functional team environment, brainstorm solutions, develop practical innovative efficient design concepts, lead design and manufacturing related activities.
  • Experience with process validation procedures IQ/OQ/PQ, protocols, execution, and report writing.
  • Experience with capital equipment systems, related manufacturing processes and inspection techniques
  • Knowledge of FDA, BSI, ISO, GMP requirements. Experience in Manufacturing or External Manufacturing/managing suppliers
  • Experience supporting multiple product platforms and manufacturing technologies, including metals, polymers/plastics, sterile packaging systems, electronic components, additive manufacturing (3D printing), and absorbable technologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead supply chain, manufacturing, or new product introduction activities across a diverse product portfolio, with an understanding of the unique operational, regulatory, and commercialization requirements associated with different materials, components, and manufacturing processes.
  • Understanding of Planning concepts such as S&OP/IBP etc.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is :

$102,000.00 - $177,100.00

Additional Description for Pay Transparency:

Subject to the terms of their respective plans, employees are eligible to participate in the Company’s consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)).



This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s long-term incentive program.



Subject to the terms of their respective policies and date of hire, employees are eligible for the following time off benefits:

Vacation –120 hours per calendar year

Sick time - 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Colorado –48 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington –56 hours per calendar year

Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays –13 days per calendar year

Work, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year

Parental Leave – 480 hours within one year of the birth/adoption/foster care of a child

Bereavement Leave – 240 hours for an immediate family member: 40 hours for an extended family member per calendar year
