Position Overview The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for developing and executing supply chain strategies for capital equipment supporting energy infrastructure projects including, battery energy storage systems (BESS), solar generation projects, other generation solutions, and related electrical infrastructure. This role manages the procurement lifecycle from supplier engagement, sourcing, evaluation, negotiations, purchase order execution, and supplier relationship management through project delivery support. The position will serve as a key interface between Supply Chain, Project Development, Engineering, Construction, Asset Management, Finance, Legal, and external suppliers to ensure equipment availability, supplier capacity, and procurement commitments are aligned with Calibrant's project pipeline. This role will also own and maintain working tools that support pipeline and supply alignment, commodity tracking, equipment allocation, procurement visibility, and supply chain risk management. Principal Duties and Responsibilities Develop and execute sourcing strategies for major capital equipment, including transformers, medium-voltage switchgear, inverters, solar modules, RMUs, and related electrical balance-of-plant equipment. Lead RFPs, RFQs, bid evaluations, supplier comparisons, commercial analysis, and award recommendations to Head of Supply Chain for assigned equipment categories and projects. Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, payment terms, warranties, commercial terms, purchase order requirements, framework agreements, contract amendments, change orders, and related supplier documentation. Issue, manage, and track purchase orders and supplier commitments to support project schedules, internal approvals, and project execution requirements. Maintain alignment between project pipeline forecasts and supplier capacity, production slots, long-lead procurement requirements, and available equipment allocations. Manage supply chain working tools, including equipment allocation trackers, pipeline/supply alignment models, procurement schedules, commodity tracking files, inventory visibility tools, and supply chain risk registers. Track market trends and commodity drivers impacting transformers, switchgear, steel, copper, freight, tariffs, domestic content requirements, FEOC exposure, and other regulatory or supply market factors. Build and maintain strong supplier relationships with OEMs, manufacturers, logistics providers, and other strategic capital equipment suppliers. Monitor supplier performance against cost, quality, responsiveness, delivery, documentation, and commercial requirements. Coordinate cross-functionally with Engineering, Development, Construction, Legal, Finance, Asset Management, and senior leadership to ensure procurement decisions support project economics, timelines, and risk objectives. Prepare sourcing recommendations, project procurement updates, supplier updates, market intelligence summaries, procurement dashboards, and executive reporting materials. Identify supply chain risks and develop mitigation strategies, including supplier diversification, early procurement planning, alternate sourcing, capacity reservations, and contingency planning. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, Operations, Finance, or related field. 5-10+ years of experience in supply chain, procurement, strategic sourcing, commercial management, or capital equipment procurement. Experience procuring capital equipment for renewable energy, power generation, utility, EPC, infrastructure, manufacturing, or industrial projects. Demonstrated experience with purchase orders, supplier negotiations, commercial analysis, contract terms, and supplier relationship management. Experience negotiating directly with OEMs and manufacturers. Strong analytical skills with advanced proficiency in Excel and experience maintaining planning, forecasting, commodity tracking, or procurement management tools. Ability to work cross-functionally with technical, commercial, legal, finance, construction, and project execution teams. Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present recommendations to senior leadership. Available to overlap with West Coast business hours. Experience with BESS, solar, microgrids, transformers, switchgear, or electrical infrastructure. Experience with ERP, procurement, inventory, project controls, or supply chain planning systems is preferred. MBA, CPSM, C.P.M., APICS, or similar procurement/supply chain certification preferred. Located on the West Coast of the United States is preferred but not essential.
