About Sureserve Energy Services Meters:
Sureserve Energy Services Meters Ltd, is a subsidiary of Sureserve, we specialise in installing domestic smart meters across the UK, working directly with 3 of the “Big Six” energy suppliers in the UK.
As a leader in the smart metering industry, Sureserve Energy Services Meters Ltd, is dedicated to advancing energy efficiency and sustainability through innovative metering solutions. Our mission is to empower consumers and businesses with accurate, real-time data, enabling informed energy decisions.
Role Overview:
The purpose of the role is to lead the Supply Chain mobilisation activity required to support scalable growth, with an initial focus on readiness for potential additional Scottish Power volume/zones. The role will translate growth requirements into a practical, controlled and executable mobilisation plan across stock, warehouse capacity, systems, processes, suppliers, 3PL capability and field logistics.
This is a nine-month fixed-term role focused on mobilisation and transformation rather than day-to-day BAU management. Working directly with the Head of Supply Chain, the Supply Chain Mobilisation Lead will design, coordinate and implement the future-state operating model needed to scale the operation safely and efficiently, ensuring new zones can be launched with the right stock, capacity, controls, systems and governance in place.
Key Responsibilities:
Own the end-to-end Supply Chain mobilisation plan to support business growth and new operational zones,
Develop scalable growth scenarios covering engineer volumes, install demand, SKU requirements, stock coverage, replenishment, returns, warehouse throughput, transport, PUDO capacity and support resource requirements,
Assess current and future 3PL and warehouse capability, identifying the capacity, layout, labour, process, technology and contingency requirements needed to support increased operational scale.
Lead Supply Chain readiness with CHH and other logistics partners, ensuring capacity, service levels, operating processes, reporting and escalation routes are agreed and tested ahead of mobilisation,
Define the stock-build and inventory-readiness plan for each mobilisation phase, aligning demand forecasts, procurement lead times, customer-supplied assets, engineer onboarding and warehouse holdings,
Coordinate the Supply Chain elements of engineer onboarding for new zones, ensuring stock profiles, initial issue, auto-replenishment parameters, PUDO arrangements and support processes are ready before go-live,
Lead the development of scalable system and data flows,
Work with IT, Operations and external partners to define, test and implement system integrations, data controls and exception-management processes required for increased transaction volumes,
Design and document the future-state Supply Chain operating model,
Identify mobilisation risks, constraints and critical dependencies early, maintaining a clear risk and action register and escalating where delivery dates, customer commitments, service or cost may be impacted,
Establish mobilisation readiness reviews and go / no-go criteria covering stock availability, systems, warehouse capacity, field logistics, supplier readiness, reporting, training and contingency arrangements,
Partner with Finance and Commercial to understand mobilisation cost-to-serve, one-off investment requirements, recurring operating cost and the financial impact of different scale-up options,
Work closely with Procurement and suppliers to validate lead times, capacity, ordering routes and contingency plans for assets, consumables and services required to support growth,
Provide clear, concise mobilisation reporting, giving visibility of progress, risks, decisions, dependencies and readiness against agreed milestones,
Coordinate cross-functional activity across Supply Chain, Field Operations, Operations, Finance, Commercial, IT and external partners to ensure mobilisation decisions are joined-up and delivered at pace,
Lead mobilisation hyper-care following launch.
Qualifications, key skills and experience required:
Proven experience in Supply Chain mobilisation, operational transformation, growth programmes or new contract implementation,
Strong understanding of warehousing, inventory management, logistics, 3PL operations and field-based supply chains,
Ability to lead complex projects, manage multiple stakeholders and deliver outcomes across matrix teams,
Strong analytical skills with experience interpreting operational data and developing scalable solutions,
Commercially minded, with the ability to balance service, cost, risk and operational performance,
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to engage at all levels,
Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, with experience using ERP, WMS, BI or reporting systems,
Continuous improvement mindset with experience driving process efficiencies and operational change,
Experience within utilities, smart metering, engineering services or a similar field-based environment would be advantageous,
Professional Supply Chain, Logistics, Project Management or Continuous Improvement qualifications (e.g. CILT, CIPS, APICS, PRINCE2, Lean or Six Sigma) are desirable,
