We a We made history and now we work to transform the future – for our customers, our communities and our families. You'll see your work on the road every day, helping people move freely and pursue their dreams. At Ford, you can build more than vehicles. Come build what matters.
Product Creation and Industrialization (PC&I) brings together Ford’s vehicle, electric, digital and design teams with our global manufacturing system. Working as one end-to-end organization, we turn ideas into high-quality vehicles, software and experiences across gas, hybrid and electric, designed around what customers need.
Join our Advanced EV Development (ADVEV) team for a 6-month Early Career Program and help build the future of mobility! Immerse yourself in Ford's center of innovation and growth, working alongside top engineering, design, and software talent to create groundbreaking EVs and contribute to key technologies like batteries, charging, and recycling. This is your chance to gain hands-on experience and make a real impact on the automotive industry.
Join a team working to improve how Ford manages sourcing across its global supply chain. We are developing digital tools that help global supply chain managers make informed sourcing decisions, work efficiently with vendors, and identify opportunities to reduce overall cost. The work spans artificial intelligence, sourcing-process software, and cost-reduction solutions.
As a student, you will work with Ford teams experienced in building these types of tools. You will contribute to projects that connect data, software, and purchasing processes, while learning how AI and digital products can be applied to real business challenges. The role offers opportunities to collaborate, ask questions, develop practical skills with guidance from experienced team members, and potential travel to prototype shops and battery manufacturing facilities.
What you'll do...
• Support development and evaluation of an AI-enabled sourcing tool that brings together relevant information from company data sources to help supply chain managers prepare for sourcing decisions.
• Help explore how data and AI can support vendor selection for quote requests, comparison of supplier quotes, and identification of opportunities to reduce total cost to Ford.
• Work with cross-functional Ford teams to understand user needs, business processes, data considerations, and potential tool capabilities.
• Contribute to SOURCE, software intended to help purchasing teams organize and track sourcing activity, coordinate interactions with vendors, and manage information associated with part numbers and sourcing packages.
• Contribute to SOLVE, a software solution focused on identifying cost-reduction opportunities for parts and sourcing packages that have already been approved.
• Assist with research, requirements gathering, prototyping, testing, and documentation, as appropriate to project needs and your skills.
You'll have...
• Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Data Science, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field.
• Interest in artificial intelligence, software products, data-driven decision-making, procurement, or global supply chain operations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn unfamiliar tools and processes.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate with people from different disciplines.
• Ability to organize work, follow through on commitments, and document ideas and results.
Even better, you may have...
• Coursework, projects, or experience involving programming, data analysis, AI/ML, or software development.
• Experience gathering requirements, mapping business processes, building prototypes, or testing software.
• Familiarity with databases, spreadsheets, data visualization, or working with structured business data.
• Coursework or experience in purchasing, sourcing, supplier management, or supply chain operations.
• An interest in responsible and practical use of AI in business workflows.
