Job Description:
An opportunity for an Supply Chain and Quality Manager to procure satellite payload equipment for our Telecoms & Navigation, Earth Observation & Science and Space Exploration programmes has arisen within Airbus Defence and Space, Getafe (Madrid).
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Acts as focal point towards the suppliers for operational activities and contract management and as ambassador of the supplier toward internal functions
- Ensures on Quality, on Time deliveries to protect business operations, by managing milestones, product life cycle reviews and deliverables coordinating with internal and external stakeholders.
- Manages the equipment supplier(s) and ensure a good contract execution.
- In a recurring phase, the SCQM will lead the progress meetings, gate reviews (KO, MRR, TRR, TRB/DRB) , changes, deviations and waivers processes, non-conformities, etc ...
- In a development phase/new product introduction, the SCQM will be a key support to the Development Responsible to bring key knowledge of industrial & manufacturing needs, constraints and supplier maturity, with the aim of ensuring industrial qualification maturity before serial phase
- Performs an effective control of supplier activities, securing a close understanding of supplier overall situation and scope.
- Manages relevant stakeholders in respect to their supplier, both internally (Programme line project team, technical authorities, engineering, Product Assurance, Supply Chain, …) & externally
- Manages and performs some of the product assurance aspects with the supplier, such as non-conformity management process
- Assesses the Supplier capacity, capability & performance and identify the industrial risks
- Initiates and manages supplier performance improvement projects to set long term development targets
- Contributes to Assessment of suppliers during tendering phase and to the selection decision
- Lives the AIRBUS values and be a role model for Ethics and Compliance in day to day relationship with supplier
SKILLS
- Engineering degree in Electronic, Space/Aerospace or similar
- Experience in Supply Chain, Quality, Project management or Engineering
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- High organizational and motivational skills
- Knowledge of Space Systems, satellite electronics, radar/ RF Payload and or manufacturing of payload equipment are a plus
- Business fluent in English; fluency in French, German or Spanish is a plus
