Job Overview

Net Power is seeking an experienced Supply Chain Specialist to support contract administration, purchase order management, and supplier onboarding for Net Power projects. The role ensures procurement processes are executed efficiently, contractual obligations are managed proactively, suppliers are properly qualified, and purchasing activities align with project cost, schedule, and compliance requirements. It is a hands-on, execution-oriented role in a lean team, suited to someone who brings industry experience and an established network across Houston's energy equipment, EPC, and industrial supplier community.

This role is based on-site in Houston, TX. Net Power offers a hybrid work schedule, 3 days in the office and 2 days remote. Travel to the project sites and supplier facilities will be on an as needed basis.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Contract Management

  • Maintain contract records, obligations, milestones, and deliverables across supply, EPC, O&M, and services agreements.
  • Support contract amendments, change orders, and commercial correspondence.
  • Monitor supplier compliance with contractual terms and conditions, including delivery, warranty, insurance, and payment terms.
  • Coordinate with Legal, Finance, Engineering, and Project teams to resolve commercial issues.
  • Maintain contract and change order trackers, working closely with Legal, and provide status reporting on open obligations and upcoming milestones.

Purchase Order Management

  • Create, issue, and administer purchase orders for equipment, materials, and services.
  • Track PO status, commitments, supplier acknowledgments, invoices, and closeout activities.
  • Ensure purchases comply with approved budgets, contracts, company procedures, and the Delegation of Authority, with appropriate approvals and segregation of duties.
  • Support procurement reporting and commitment forecasting, providing Finance and project teams accurate commitment, accrual, and spend data for budgeting and period-end close.
  • Resolve PO discrepancies and supplier-related issues, including invoice, receiving, and three-way match exceptions.

Supplier Onboarding & Vendor Management

  • Lead vendor qualification and onboarding activities.
  • Collect and validate supplier documentation, including insurance, tax forms, banking information, and compliance records.
  • Maintain the Approved Vendor List (AVL).
  • Conduct supplier risk assessments — including financial health, safety, quality, and sanctions/restricted-party screening — and support performance evaluations.
  • Partner with stakeholders to ensure suppliers meet project and business requirements.

Project Procurement Support

  • Support sourcing and procurement activities for critical project equipment and services, including bid solicitation, bid tabulation, and commercial evaluation support.
  • Track supplier deliveries and procurement milestones, including long-lead equipment, against project schedules.
  • Identify and escalate supply chain risks impacting project execution, such as lead-time slippage, supplier capacity, tariff and trade exposure, and logistics constraints.
  • Assist with supplier communications, expediting, and issue resolution.
  • Support receiving, shipping, and logistics coordination to Permian Basin and other project sites.

Compliance, Controls & Continuous Improvement

  • Support public-company internal controls over procurement and disbursements, including documentation for internal and external audit and SOX-related testing.
  • Maintain procurement procedures, templates, and supplier data in the company's ERP and contract systems, and identify process improvements as the project portfolio scales.
  • Build and maintain supplier relationships across OEMs, EPC contractors, and the Houston-area industrial supplier base to support competitive pricing and reliable delivery.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5–7 years of experience in procurement, contract administration, supply chain, or supplier management.
  • Strong understanding of sourcing, commercial negotiations, contracts, purchase orders, and supplier management.
  • Knowledge of contracts, purchase orders, supplier onboarding, and procurement processes.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Salesforce, Oracle, D365, or equivalent) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Hands-on, execution-oriented working style, comfortable operating in a lean organization with evolving processes.

Preferred

  • Experience supporting EPC, energy, industrial, construction, or manufacturing projects.
  • Direct experience in power generation or energy infrastructure procurement, such as turbines, engines, switchgear, transformers, battery storage, or balance-of-plant equipment.
  • Established relationships with Houston-area OEMs, EPC contractors, equipment suppliers, and service providers.
  • Experience in a public company environment with procurement controls, delegation of authority, and audit support.
  • Familiarity with long-lead equipment procurement, import/trade compliance, and project logistics.

Additional Requirements

Candidates must be able to perform essential functions as outlined above, including but not limited to:

  • Operate at a computer and sit for long periods of time.
  • Repeat motions that may include the wrists, hands, or fingers.
