Your role in the JoJo story…

Location: Battersea, London (Hybrid)

Reporting to: Head of Quality, Technical and Compliance

Do you love getting into the detail of what makes a product genuinely better for people and the planet? Here at JoJo, we're looking for a Sustainability Manager to help us deliver and evolve our sustainability strategy, working closely with our Head of Quality & Responsible Sourcing and colleagues right across the business.

It's a varied role: supply chain data, product sustainability, regulatory compliance, packaging, circular design, external reporting and bringing colleagues along with us. If you're already working as a sustainability co-ordinator/advisor (or similar) and ready for your next step, this could be the one for you.

A peek into your daily adventures:

Shaping our strategy

• Developing and supporting our sustainability roadmap for product, packaging and the wider business, including our climate targets, and tracking progress against them.

• Keeping on top of regulation and best practice, and advising the business on what's coming next.

• Managing and developing our Responsible Sourcing Assistant(s), and working with Finance and leadership to deliver our Climate Action Plan.

Product sustainability

• Looking after the processes and reporting for our sustainable materials (Better Cotton, FSC, GRS and GOTS).

• Working with Design and Buying to evolve our approach to circularity, mapping fibre use and growing our certified recycled and circular materials.

• Making sure every green or sustainability claim is robustly traced and evidenced before we use it, and training product and marketing colleagues to do the same.

Keeping us compliant and certified

• Supporting our PPWR, EPR and Digital Product Passport (DPP) compliance, assessing data gaps and building clear project plans.

• Supporting our B Corp journey, including reporting and recertification, and being the main contact for third-party audits, tracking findings through to completion.

• Making sure we have the right methodology and record-keeping to support external reporting, including our annual impact report.

Bringing people with us

• Working closely with our Buying, Design, Technical, Marketing and Finance teams, and with L&D, to keep everything joined up.

• Being the go-to person for questions on sustainable products, materials and green claims, and creating guidance packs, communications and engagement events for colleagues in stores and our support centre.

• Preparing sustainability updates for senior leadership and representing JoJo in industry initiatives and working groups.

Data, systems and support

• Overseeing our monthly reporting cycles for sustainable materials, from data collection and analysis through to action.

• Helping to build and improve the systems and processes behind our sustainability work, and supporting the team with project management, research and day-to-day admin.

Skills that make you shine:

Experience & knowledge

• Experience in a sustainability, compliance or quality role, ideally within a fashion retailer, sustainability consultancy, NGO or B Corp, and a track record of working with (and managing) ESG, compliance or sustainability agendas.

• Knowledge of product legislation (ESPR, DPP, PPWR) or supply chain compliance frameworks.

Technical skills

• Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.

• A real enthusiasm for data: analysis, measuring impact, creating reports and dashboards, with a sharp eye for detail.

• Experience with data management systems and sustainability platforms.

Personal qualities

• A strong researcher who can collate, summarise and interpret complex information.

• A collaborative communicator who can build relationships and engage people at every level, with excellent written and spoken English.

• Well-organised and initiative-taking, able to juggle multiple workstreams and manage your own priorities in an evolving, agile environment.

• An adaptive, innovative thinker who can influence and lead change, with clear critical reasoning and a love of delivering results.

• Able to travel for work as required, including supplier visits.

Just to give you a taste of our culture, we’ll be looking for you to:

  • Be a brand ambassador, safeguarding our values and ethos.

  • Demonstrate honesty and respect in every interaction.

  • Foster collaboration and open, active listening

  • Take ownership of all aspects of the role.
