The Role 

 

As a Sustainability Specialist, you will support Victaulic's sustainability and regulatory compliance initiatives, with a focus on European sustainability legislation. Working on topics including climate change, circular economy, ESG reporting and environmental sustainable procurement. Working across Engineering, Sourcing, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain teams, you will help ensure compliance, support sustainability reporting, and drive continuous improvement in environmental compliance programs.

 

What you will do

 

• Turn signals into action - Monitor and interpret European sustainability and environmental legislation and help translating validated signals into clear, actionable insights relevant to Victaulic. 

• Own the sustainability legislation - Support sustainability and product compliance programs across Victaulic. Assist with compliance activities related to a.o. CBAM, CSRD, EUDR and other regulatory requirements. 
• Identify and liaise with relevant working groups that pertain to sustainability strategy and implementation (focus in the construction and potable water industry).
• Support the Manager, Regulatory & Sustainability, in developing forward-looking roadmaps of EU sustainability and materials related policy developments informing and collaborating with new product development initiates within EMEA
• Coordinate across functions – Collect, validate, and analyze sustainability and supplier data. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure integrated and consistent responses and a timely execution. 

• Provide sustainability visibility - Support sustainability reporting, maintain dashboards, regulatory heatmaps and sustainability documentation for stakeholders. 

• Ensure traceability and audit readiness – maintain structured tracking, documentation and reporting to support compliance and inspection readiness.

• Build capacity and improve continuously - Identify opportunities to improve sustainability compliance processes and data management, including digital tooling over time. 

 

About you 

 

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Bioengineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Business Engineering, or a related field. 

• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in sustainability, compliance, engineering, or a related discipline. 

• An experience with assurance of advisory in sustainability legislation is a plus.  

• Ability to interpret European sustainability legislation and translate them into operational business actions.  

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and ability to synthesize into conclusions. 

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.

• Passionate about sustainability, naturally curious, and eager to learn in a rapidly evolving regulatory environment.

• Driven, proactive, and detail-oriented, with strong critical thinking skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across international, cross-functional teams.

• Fluent in English. Knowledge of any other language is an asset.
