Role Description This full-time remote System Administrator role is responsible for maintaining, monitoring, and securing APTWatch’s IT infrastructure. The System Administrator will manage servers and operating systems, perform regular updates and patches, and ensure system reliability and performance. Daily activities include troubleshooting technical issues, providing technical support to internal teams, and overseeing network administration tasks such as configuration, access control, and performance monitoring. The role also involves implementing best practices for backup, disaster recovery, and cybersecurity, documenting procedures, and collaborating with engineering and security teams to support new deployments and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Strong System Administration skills, including server management, operating system configuration, and performance optimization.
  • Proficiency in Troubleshooting and Technical Support to diagnose, resolve, and document complex IT issues.
  • Experience in Network Administration, including network configuration, monitoring, and security controls.
  • Solid foundation in Information Technology principles, infrastructure, and security best practices.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, or GCP) and virtualization technologies.
  • Experience with automation tools and scripting (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, or Python) is beneficial.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage priorities, and communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, Security+, Microsoft, Linux, or cloud certifications) are a plus.
