Systems Administrator / Systems Engineer

TEKsystems' client is seeking a Systems Administrator / Systems Engineer to join their Infrastructure team on a 6-month contract basis. This individual will support a Microsoft-centric environment while helping drive the organization's strategic migration from on-premises infrastructure into Azure.

The ideal candidate will have strong Windows Systems Administration experience, a solid networking foundation, and experience supporting cloud technologies. This role is approximately 50% project work and 50% operational support, including escalated support tickets and infrastructure

troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Administer Windows Server environments, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and Exchange
• Support Microsoft 365 and Azure environments
• Assist with Azure cloud migration initiatives and Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD)
• Manage endpoint technologies including Intune and security platforms
• Support LAN/WAN networking, VLANs, routing, switching, and connectivity troubleshooting
• Provide advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis for infrastructure and application issues
• Support Ubiquiti/UniFi network infrastructure
• Assist with Zscaler administration and security initiatives
• Create and maintain technical documentation
• Participate in infrastructure modernization and scalability projects
• Serve as an escalation point for complex support issues

Additional Qualifications

• 5+ years of Systems Administration experience
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Experience working in fast-paced environments
• Ability to independently research and resolve unfamiliar technical issues
• Experience supporting hybrid cloud environments preferred
• Experience with Tanium is highly desired
• Experience with VMware, Intune, and Zscaler is a plus

Compensation

Pay Rate: $45.00 - $55.00 per hour

Actual compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, skills, qualifications, and other job-related considerations.

Work Environment

Location: Aurora, CO 80011

Schedule: Hybrid, 3 days onsite per week
