Systems Commissioning Integrator III – SCADA Support & Commissioning

The Systems Commissioning Integrator III for SCADA Support and Services is responsible for providing premium and client focused technical support to Ulteig Plant SCADA control systems and clients.
We are seeking experienced PLC/SCADA commissioning integrators to support the startup and integration of solar and battery energy storage system (BESS) sites across the U.S. This role is heavily focused on remote commissioning, real-time troubleshooting, and system validation, working closely with field technicians, EPCs, and asset owners.
Ideal candidates have hands-on experience with automation systems, industrial networking, and energy control systems, and are able to work non-standard hours to align with site commissioning schedules.
What You'll Do
- Engage with clients in the Renewable Energy industry
- Maintains positive client relationships, responsive both internally and externally, frequent client interaction
- PLC troubleshooting with one or more of the following platforms:
- Allen Bradley
- Schneider
- SEL RTAC
- HMI/SCADA troubleshooting with one or more of the following platforms:
- Ignition
- Wonderware
- Kepware/Topserver
- Remote troubleshooting following live system best practices (NERC CIP, ISO, NIST, etc.)
- Perform remote commissioning of PLC- and SCADA-based control systems for solar and BESS plants
- Troubleshoot, and test communications between PLCs, inverters, relays, meters, and HMI/SCADA systems
- Conduct I/O validation, logic testing, and control sequence verification during site startup
- Work collaboratively with field teams to resolve real-time system issues via VPN or remote desktop
- Review and modify ladder logic, structured text, or function block diagrams to meet site performance requirements
- Support integration with plant SCADA platforms (e.g., Ignition, Wonderware, GE iFIX, Cimplicity, or similar)
- Document commissioning results, punch list items, and corrective actions.
- Participate in after-hours commissioning sessions (nights/weekends) to align with site operations and power-up windows
- Provide remote technical support to operations teams post-commissioning, as needed.
- Understanding and updating technical documentation (control logic, test procedures, user manuals, etc.)
- Take ownership of personal and product quality
- Responsible for completing tasks in allotted time
What We Expect from You
- Two year technical degree
- 3+ years of experience in industrial automation, preferably within energy, utilities, or process control. Renewable energy industry exposure – Wind, PV, BESS
- Function Block and/or structured text programming experience preferred
- Demonstrated proficiency and working knowledge of communication protocols (DNP3, Modbus, etc.) and internet network architectures
- Effectively uses common, discipline-specific software and helps others use it as well
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines by setting priorities
- Demonstrates excellent verbal/written communication, time management, interpersonal and organizational skills with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, management and clients
- Gains knowledge by attending technical training sessions or conferences and shares knowledge through technical reports or presenting interesting, relevant topics to the team
- Able to read communication diagrams, logic diagrams, and network schematics
- Proven experience in Microsoft Software Applications (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, SQL, Access)
- Proven experience commissioning PLC and SCADA systems (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Schneider, SEL, etc.)
- Strong understanding of Modbus TCP/IP, DNP3, and other industrial communication protocols.
- Familiarity with solar plant or BESS architectures, including inverters, relays, and control panels.
- Proficiency with network configuration (managed switches, IP addressing, VPNs, etc.).
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under time-sensitive commissioning conditions
- Background in renewable energy or power systems.
- Understanding of site commissioning processes, safety procedures, and QA/QC documentation communication and documentation skills
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and organizational skills
- Willing to travel 50% of the time
- Ability to participate in 24/7 rotation
- Mandatory weekend and evening hours
- Valid driver’s license and ability to meet company driving standards
- Must have permanent authorization to work in US

Additional Opportunity Details:
Target Base Compensation Range for this role is $36.00 - $48.00 hourly
